Cyclone1, You are correct, talked to Sean yesterday and they are going to run the lic schools the same days as track days. They will have a limit of 15 track school students per track day. Hippie Dave, Do you have to have a few trackdays under your belt before you can do the lic school? Gravedigger, You know what....I got somethin' for ya....lemme see here...(scrounges around in his pocket) OH here it is... hehehe. Gonna find out if I can get you guys a deal on leathers tomorrow..hold on to yer wallets..heehee Once again..frame is "supposed" to be in the mail. I asked for a tracking number, and my contact is "supposed" to find out what it is, and who is hauling it. Man, I appreciate someone doing me a favor, but this is getting rediculous. OK, meeting at P'oQ's, 119th and Roe 7:00p.m. Thursday. Be there, or be square let's get it together, and bring some prettier wimmin than last time, ok? HEEHEEHEE

Cyclone 1 Hey Frank, you know those washers that keep the front brake disc tight on my S1, how loose should those be?? Sent my pegs in to be polished, along with the front sprocket gaurd, sooo I won't be a ridin to the thursday night fling. Damn shame to, looks like it might be good weather! Bill!! I still have your helmet in good condition! Want it back??? I'll try to hook up with ya at thursday night. If not just Nextel me at 8639 and I'll run it to ya at your house! Yea, I got my new helmet, all I can say is it is new!! Not as Cool as Franks Leathers though!! Damn thing is white with alot of decals, OH well it was very cheap I guess. |

Cyclone1, I'd recommend a track day or 6 before you get your racing lic and go racing but I don't think it's required. Ride to the edge! Dave Buell sales mgr HD/Buell Cycle Center Waterloo Ia 1-800-342-7539 ext 14 dave@iowaharley.com I guess on this thread known as Hippie Dave |

Franky I'd not even think about a license and just enjoy the track days. If you get to the point where ya have a dedicated track bike and are competitive, then I'd make the plunge. Until then ... track days are to "develope riding skills". Even at gateway with a road course set up...it was awesome! You don't need a license to challenge skills and have a great time. DAve |

Woah, woah woah...cm'on guys..I'm not an idiot. I know I can't just "jump into" racing. I think it's crazy that they DON'T REQUIRE at least 10 track days before they let you have a license. Seems silly to me. There's no way I have the skill or fitness level to be competing anyways. But it is something I have alot of interest in. So chill peeps...don't burst my bubble already :P Had a great turnout and fun times tonight. Sorry I couldn't do any better on the leathers. For any of you fellow KC "lurking" Buellers or non Buellers : We are planning a trip to Waterloo to join "Hippie" Dave and the rest of the Motley Crue up there for a Chili cookout on Feb. 22. Most of us will probably ride, weather permitting, but will do cages (shut up digger...I know what you're gonna say :P, LOL) if we really "have" to. ANYONE THAT WANTS TO COME IS MORE THAN WELCOME TO ENDURE RICHIE'S MINDLESS BABBLE!!! Also there will be numerous "I gotta pee" stops for the older and weak bladdered folk (Mr. Bill) No offense That's all I got...Let the sh!t flinging commence

I mentioned last thursday night about the V-Rod dyno I read about. This is a stock 2002 V-Rod,it dynoed at 103.3 HP, and 71.1 Torque!I knew it wasnt the 120RWH,I've heard mentioned. |

Naa, they're only advertised at 115 HP. And I believe its prolly like the rest of harley's "advertised" HP numbers..at the crank. Still not bad for a Harley in my book It's a blast to ride..if you're going in a straight line that is

No big surprise...the numbers game. VROD's ~103 RWHP and 115/120 crank HP advertised...as a 1200cc Buell's ~83 RWHP and 101 crank HP advertised. DAve |

What surprised me,when I rode the V-Rod,it felt like more torque than 71.It is the best performing motor I think HD has come up with.Im not knocking the bike, just thought the dyno numbers were interesting. |

Yeah I haven't rode one yet but I want to. You're right about the torque numbers Richie, I'd expect more considering what a stock 1200 Buell delivers. DAve |

It's a whole different ballgame..V-rod vs. Buell. V-rods rev alot higher than a Buell motor does. A 45 degree motor has a lot more "twisting" force (Torque) than a 60 degree motor does, because its always working against the other cylinder. And I'm here to tell ya..the thing doesn't like being run below 5000 RPM. By the time you get it up to 9-10k RPM you don't miss the lack in torque , cause your ass is trying to hold on. And remember..you can go 80 in second gear . I remember test riding it at the open house for the first time and I was like "OH SHIT..I forgot to shift! hehehe." That's prolly nothing new with the current hardware that can be had, but its new to the Harley community. I'm thinking if they come out with something that doesn't have the 313.45" wheelbase, like that artist rendition in that cycle world, I would seriously consider buying one. Hmmm...maybe its time to fabricate a de-raked neck...I could make millions MUHAHAHAHA
