All . . .. . After spending mumble-mumble years squatting on highly-modified knees in the garage, I've decided to get a bike lift . . . . all of the available models will, according to their manufacturers, securly raise my bike off the floor, allow unfettered access from 360 degrees (I assume horizontal), get my dainty unmentionables whiter than white, and bring peace in our time. I would like a more balanced view . .. clearly, the little guys that lift from the lower frame rails won't work on the M2 or Blast . . . input on all other models is gratefully received . . . . thanks | ||

oh, yeah . . . . front and rear pit stands are great, but I'm lookin to the get bike further off the ground . . . .minimum 18" or so | ||

At our dealer they have those grey bike stands that you roll the bike onto. Clamp the front wheel (or rear) and they use air preasure to raise the bike up. Pretty cool i think they go for around 2 grand pricey but they work. | ||

Mike that's what I did. I think I got the content on either side of the comma mixed up. Bomber, It's on my list of things to buy. I shoulda had Rocket cart one over for me last month. I have seen it iin person. Best and most versatile lift I've ever seen. A little pricey but the money you'll save doing your own routine 2.5k, 5k and 10k services will break even pretty quickly. | ||

I've got a number in the garage, and need to get the wheels off them from time to time . . . . I'd hat to spend $X on the lift, and $3X on the frame adaptors . . . .. . your the first person I've run across to actually use one . . . . | ||

There's a price list on their site, and they're reasonable. Buell adapter is $95. So, $600 total then. | ||

Bomber, The bike lifts that most shops, including ours use are made in Marshalltown Ia and aren't 2000.00 but about 1/2 that. My friend has two of the Eazy Rizer lifts in his shop. In fact, my S1W has been sat on one of them, in his shop window, for a good few weeks. According to my friend, and he's a big lad who knows how to chuck a motorcycle around in a confined space, getting the S1W on the Rizer (without the wheel supports) is not easy on your own. Also , there's no work surface to rest anything upon, including your elbows, other than that they're great to lift even the big Glides. Rocket  | ||

I've got one of the Handy Industries lifts with the 12" side extensions and front extension in my shop. The side extensions double as a work table and are worth it. You could only use one if you wanted. If you use their wheel vise, watch Buell front rotors. Seen a few get tweeked in the "Past" shops that I worked at. It's the best value for a durable, safe lift you will find. Start with the basic lift and wheel vise and get the accessories as you need them. I've had trikes on mine. When things are slow, I even groom my Great Pyrenees dogs on them!!! Kerry  | ||

Even cheaper, weld up a couple of pipe A-frames to suspend the bike in the air. The eazy-rizer, tho is extremely versatile, just about any bike can be put on it. | ||

These guys have some really nice lifts as well. I especially like the feature, where you can slide out the center of the rear of the lift, or even drop the entire front (makes sense when you see it ) to work on the wheels. About the same price as the Handy lifts. I checked up on Handy as well awhile back, and the shipping completely killed the deal for me. Henrik, Zoni Bros. in Brooklyn is a distributor for Handy Industries. Cash talks with them. I recently got the Handy lift, 12" side extensions, 13" front extension ( not necessary for sport bikes) wheel vise and dolly for under $1200. Handy's other distribution point in PA doesn't charge shipping and they deliver free in NJ a couple of days a week. Their prices are the same as posted on the Handie industries site. Power-X-Sports lifts are nice but by the time you add in shipping, it ends up being double the price of the Handy. Besides, I ordered the drop front lift from them last January with all the bells and whistles and due to them getting a large contract with H-D they seem to forget about a single order. After seven months of ing around with them, I bought the Handy. I've used them for years anyway and they are bulletproof. If you decide on one of the Handy's, you could save shipping and have it dropped at my place. Shipping from my house to yours will cost you dinner! Kerry | ||

Another one to check out is sold by Northern for $499.99.. Has foot pump very much like a Grazia lift which I have... purchased mine at a Cycle shop auction for $175.. 800 lb capacity 30 inch height and is moveable even with a bike on it. | ||

Kerry; Too bad about the PowerXSports being so flaky. Looks like a really nice product for a home mechanic with a tool fetish  I'll keep Handy in mind for later - right now the funds (and the space ) just aren't there. But you know, dinner is on me if you ever make it over this way. Henrik | ||
