Southern Marine, The spoiler brackets attach to the engine not the muffler, so yes it will work....I have 2 more cans coming next week so I'll be able to do alot of testing..... Kevin www.kdfab.com |

Yea, I was just wondering size difference, if there was any problems, differences. Thanks for the info though. The new look on the Drummer and the Carbon is sweet. |

B_s, I have thoughts but nothing pinned down yet..it will be affordable for the amount of power it produces and then being CF...hp to dollar ratio...hehe Kevin www.kdfab.com |

Kevin...I'm very interested. As you probably know, I have an early model fatlip and love it. You have made some impressive R&D and I think I am ready to upgrade to the new technology. How do you think the underside will do from road debris and contact with the pavement. Is it the same thickness as the stock can? As your well aware of...I don't know of a single exhaust that isn't dinted in some way. I even knocked the screen loose inside mine from a few hard landings from wheelies. |

B_s, I'm going to build this CF Drummer to the highest durability standards that I can control and the rest will be up to the nature of the beast....over 50% of the can is 7 layers thick, it's hard to even squeeze it and compress it in those areas with both hands....the insides will have extra support built in to keep the stress points more rigid.....I don't know how it will hold up compared to the stainless but if in doubt, get the stainless...I'm putting one on my bike regardless how long it makes it because I want to abuse it to see what it does....the SS can shape gives you 1 or more inches of ground clearance over the stock can shape so maybe it won't touch...the CF can is .066 wall thichness....stock 9 is alot thinner than that... can't wait for the price on the CF. i didn't even look at any other exhaust beside the race kit but was curious if i could run this pipe (i know still in testing but with the previous mufflers can you...) with race ecm and filter with cut air box? and do you have to have the TPS reset? |

Kevin, You do beautiful work man and I listened a hundred times to the sound clips on your site. When my wife gets over my purchase of a new car I'll be giving you a call. Can you jack the bike up like stock with the SS model?? Thanks, Bill |

Dragon, Jerseyguy has pics of his jacked up with the SS...he made fixtures to fit under the muffler caps so not to dent the center of the bottom, but yes it's pretty strong.... Buellblastrider, yes it still works with the race ecm and any open/cut airbox....all my mufflers are designed to work with the race ecm fuel curve and will operate well on the stock ecm and stock filter, but I advise you to use the race ecm or some other tuning for optimum results and a safe airfuel value... Hey Kev saw your write up, nice pic! When I told Opto about this thread, and that he would want to buy one, he said don't tempt him. I have been nagging him about sending back the SS to be modified. He just keeps saying no and that he is waiting, and I keep saying for what? Well, after reading this post he just gave me that knowing "told you so look" so I guess I better shut up. Glad he is the one in the family with patience. Bindy |

Whats he waiting for anyway???? That SS you have is a collector's piece.....hang on to it and we'll make you a new one if you need it....I've got all kinds of tricks up my sleeve, just getting something built is the hard part....this CF deal is taking some time..., the dyno time at the shootout will be my education....it will show me exactly what I've been waiting to see... You hit the nail on the head Kev, that's what he said "Kev's got plenty more tricks up his sleeve yet." I guess he is just waiting to see the "trick's up your sleeve" before he does anything. With three Drummers in the house it's not as if we are exactly doing it tough waiting. Hee! Hee! By the way, I know you are really happy with how things are going, but you look a wee bit tired, remember to take it easy on yourself and don't burn yourself out. I guess that's what you get when you are just so good at what you do, everyone wants a piece of the action! Good Luck with everything and know that we are rooting (cheer squad) for you down here. You take care now, Bindy |

Sorry Kev just got your question, We where going to send it back to you to change the outlet to the other side, so Opto could put it on Uly. He was worried at the time about the heat factor. Then he said it did not matter and that he was waiting to see what else you had up your sleeve anyway. Hope that all makes sense now, sometimes I forget with the written word you dont always have things come out like you want it too. Take Care Bindy |

I think Bindy enjoys talking to you Kevin, and the half-loud fatletted Drummer Original just keeps humming on her bike which she loves...but she's right, I have patience and our Buells are running very well with the Originals for now! The SS we have we are very proud of, and it will go back on Bindy's bike without mods, but the Uly might get something special in the future. |

Bindy, Thanks for the kind words, I'm tired alright but not even close to burnt out....this stuff really gets me intrigued and I'm probably a little OCD too, I want to make one thing the very best you can get and then I'll make something else....you're still #1 and don't worry things are going as planned..... Opto, Tell Bindy I enjoy talking to her as well, I guess she will read this too!!!! I'd be glad to change the outlet side on your SS when ever you want me to...I'm getting ready to test with a new fuel management system in the near future, what's the deal with Megasquirt??? Is that something we need to be looking into???? you need to PM me with the specifics on what it does, I'm really interested.... Kevin www.kdfab.com (Message edited by kds1 on April 19, 2006) |

Hey Kevin, Long time since we chatted. Anyway Megasquirt is the shiznit!!! If you go to google and type in megasquirt you will get all the info you ever wanted. In my opinion there is nothing out there better in a EFI setup. I am going to be using it to get rid of the carb setup on my car. Just waiting for a few upgrades that are in the works. If I had the time and patience I would get it over the DL software for the Buell, but I dont have that kind of time right now nor will I anytime soon. John |
