Has anyone ever swapped the front end from a Yamaha or other off brand onto their bikes? I am looking for more wheel options along with inverted forks and radial calipers. Also, are their any rear wheels that would be compatible with a tube frame Buell? |

Some of the Japanese publications I've come across over the years have adverts for different fork options on Buells. I wouldn't have thought it difficult to find any fork set-up within reason to adapt into a Buell. Some have fitted single sided arms from RAM, which use a modified or copied Ducati arm. That way you can use Ducati wheels of varying makes. Be prepared to spend mucho wonga. Rocket |

You may be able to look into steering head inner diameter as well as bearing sizes for different options to see how easy or hard a swap might be. There will always be some tinkering though. There is no "bolt-on" where you're going As an example, it is possible to swap a GSXR front end onto an SV650 (I'm working on it), and since steering head dimensions are similar, it only requires swapping one of the bearings. Most triple clamps have a stem that is pressed in.If you make a custom stem to fit your bearings/steering neck you can put on any front end you want.I put a Suzuki TL 1000 front fork set-up on my Yamaha FJ-600 and a CR-80 fork set on an XR-100.Just had a machinist friend make stem to work.Took way longer to take all the measurements that to cut the stem.Be sure to check fork length. |

Consider Showa forks made for different brands (certain Aprila and Ducati models are a good place to look) There are also shim kits available to adapt forks into larger triples.
