hi chase, i have to work sat. until 5. i sure wish i could make that vanson thing it's awesome, free food and soda, free entertainment, top notch company. if you folks are still out and about after 5 i'll fly down there after work. i'll take my bike to work here in taunton, i should be to fall river in twenty minutes or so barring speeding tickets and such! there's some of the best food around to be had in and around fall river especially if you like portuguese food! so maybe after a nice ride out in westport or dartmouth (nice country roads abound) we can get some dinner. danny knows that area well i'm sure as he's been living in s.e. mass for a long time. call me on my cell maybe we can all meet up after 5ish, enjoy the show in the afternoon, last time i went they had the star boys doing stunts in the parking lot it was badass! |

Tripp...called left 2 v-mails.. Well, rode out there today...wasnt too bad.. UNTIL, I got to 24..about 15 minutes on there, it started to get misty...then rain..then freezing rain/hail... Mia was a trooper the whole way..2 hours 2 up..45 minutes of it in FREEZING wetness..she only had me stop once...to drain the water outta her boots..she wasnt happy..BUT, she didnt complain once...so.. Anyway, met up with Jester there..and he offered to tow my bike back here to springfield area.. I said no..BUT, the war department quickly and firmly overruled me.. So, we made it back.. all in all good day..for me anyway.. Got us both a pair of those new(for vanson) Moto Jeanswell, 2nd prototype.. On that note, I grabbed the wrong ones on my way out..so I have to go back..and get the right size...maybe even have them fix the zippers on teh sleeves... ANyway, Tripp, will ring ya tomorrow, or call me when you get a chance..my number is still the same...I THINK Vanson is open tomorrow..didnt get a good look at it...but they might be... Chase |

anything going on this weekend? any rides or such? figured i ask now and maybe if nothing is happening we could make something happen. (weather permitting and all). H-D/Buell of Danbury, CT. (about 2.5hrs from me) may be an option for a saturday run as i was going to take a ride that way to check them out, have lunch, come home or take a tour of the area depending on how things go. just tossing ideas around. Well my bike is back together. I want to take a few shake down rides local before I venture away from home. I don't want to find a problem to far away. However if everything holds up I may be convinced to take a nice ride. |

Has anyone gone through Boston north to south (in on US-1 through the Big Dig and south on 93) on a bike? I'm thinking about coming down that way to visit my son down in Westport. I've been through that way last year in a car but not on a bike. I'm wondering if people that know that area would consider doing the bridges coming into Boston and going through the tunnel as a fairly routine ride. Thanks for any advice. I'm up for a ride but you guys are too far away. Jack |

nothing in boston is routine. they change it so often. the ride down RT.1 isn't to bad. the big dig is a cluster fu$8. and drivers suck. then 93 is fast and furious. not bad if you come through when rush hours(am/pm) is all done. i've been to chinatown a few times and its more watching out for the cagers than anything. i would seek out a casual ride through the towns or around boston if possible. just my .02 |

as long as it aint rush hour your best bet is 93s to 24s to 195e takes you right into westport in a about 1 1/4 hrs from boston. chase, didnt get voicemails got message sunday at home and left one on your cell, had to go to my neices' basketball award ceremony (4 hrs yikes) never figured my town could possibly have that many little air jordans! |

Thanks guys, it's only about 12-15 miles further to go out and around on 95 and that is probably what I'll do. I can handle having to ride hyper defensively but I sort of live in terror of some of the unsuspected things that are found on road surfaces around bridges and in tunnels. Jack |

I got a 2005 Sportster 883L, to go with my Buell. Eventually,I am going to do an old school look to the bike, pin stripes and some other classic goodies. |

Jack, I live on the Northshore and commute into work everyday. Are you talking about using 128/95 to go around Boston? It may only be 12-15 more miles as the crow flies, but traffic west of Boston between Rt.20 and the 95 turn off sucks no matter the time. It will add at least 30 minutes to the trip. If you can travel at off rush times as suggested by others 93 will be much faster, both time and speed ;^) If your coming from the Northshore take the Ted Williams to 93S Exit 24. The sound in the tunnel is awesome. james |

I come down from Maine, I was talking about the common sense advisability, when on a bike, of taking 1 off of 95 down through the tunnel, picking up 93, then 95, and then 24 to get to Westport. I've been through that route a couple of time in a car and I sort of remember the older bridges and the tunnel as something that might not be that pleasant to do on a bike. The alternative is only about 15 miles further and that would be to go around to the west and south on 95 and then pick up 24 on down to Westport. It has been a year or so since I was down there so I thought I ask what a local thought of it. Jack |

Good evening Jack, From Maine I would avoid Rt.1 all together, to many access roads and shopping malls. Stay 95 to Woburn then South on 93. Just stay left over the Zakim bridge and through the tunnel. If your travelling at rush hour it doesn't really matter, your screwed. james |

James, Thanks for the advice. I checked that out on M$ Streets & Trips 2006 and it looks like, for an extra 13 miles or so, I can stay on I-95 all the way around to 24 and that looks good too. That's 13 miles more compared to the US-1/Big Dig/I-93 shot. When will that underwater tunnel route (I-90?) out by the airport be open? Is that still a plan? Jack |

as long as you don't mind going out of the way a few miles - from 24s take 495s to 105s - there is a quick few miles of awesome twisties on 105 including a big sweeping right hander with water on both sides half way through, it will turn into a long country road after that with farm land and you'll eventually (15 min.) get to a stop sign in the center of town in acushnet, go left on main st. a mile or less later you'll cross over into fairhaven and at the first set of lights take a right and down on your left will be the on ramp to 195w about five exits up is westport rte 88. the whole detour should'nt take you more than 40 min. out of your way. it's a small but fine set of twisties! |

Glad to help Jack, The I90 tunnel connection to Logan airport has been open since last year. Coming from the North you use the Ted Williams tunnel first and then connect to I90 West You can also exit to I93 North and South or South Boston. Problem is you need to get into the Ted Williams via Rt.1A which will mean taking Rt 1 to Revere exit to Rt.60 to connect up with 1A. This would add a bit of time to your trip. Be careful with S $ T it still shows that you can take the callhan tunnel and go south on 93. NOT TRUE any more. I couldn't get the rode works update to take either. james |

i'm not to sure if there is much happening this weekend. i don't know of anything. i'm fine meeting/going anywhere. i found a road this weekend w/ a friend of mine while trying to get lost that goes through MA. into RI then into CT. (near thompson speedway) then ends up on RT.44 in chepachet(sp?). the road had some nice twisties w/ some good strieghts to go w/ it.?(may become my favorite rd.) first time on the road so i was pretty slow (plus my ridding bud owns an flh and he's not to fast per say. it was about a 60 mile ride. nice and quit. will ride it a few more times before i pick up the pace. rt.2 is always a nice ride also. i don't know i'm just babbling out ideas. maybe wait till weekend is here and see what plays out. |
