It will depend upon the bend/height etc of the bars you choose.

The LSL and RRC streetfighter bar conversions both come supplied with very low profile bars in order to clear the fairing. Any higher and you will run into clearance problems.

You will need a longer front brake line, the other wiring should fit although you may need to 'jiggle' it a bit around the headstock.

Crazy Col,

I recently fitted a set of Renthal Low bars which are similar in height to the stock bars but a bit wider with less pullback. You have to reroute the electrics & cables but they do fit. Al from American Sport Bike supplied these & the bar ends

I've got protaper bars on my xb with no problems, they are the mini bars (60's and 80's) in the KX bend. They are 7/8 with a crossbar.

I've got the Azonic lows on mine. Am I the only one that has a strange angle at the levers? (they should be parallel, but mine are high on each end) Just wondering if this was uncommon...

Kowpow225...

Most dirt bike bars are very short at the grip section. On a street bike… you need more length to be able to fit the grip, switches, and the levers properly. So… your levers are bolted on the part of the bars where they start to bend. You can try to move the levers in just a little… then, put your grips on by smashing them on to the bars. (compress the rubber to make them shorter) I had to do that when I put on my new bars. (cut down, KSA Double tall)

Crazy_col…

To put tall bars on an “R”… I would think you would need a set of cables from the “S” or a Uly. (and a top triple clamp for standard bars)

Murdoch and all Thanks to you all for all your help.. the bars i have to fit look identical to yours murdoch..except in red...however i see that you have the "s" model in the pic.. or did you remove the "R" fairing? i say this for obvious reasons as the cables for electrics would already have been correct length. or have i missed some thing and am being a thick head or some thing.. as it is quite possible!! lol .

Crazy Col,
No mate, it is the S model. I posted before I realized you were looking for R model info. I was going to remove it but thought it still may be of interest & obvious it was the S.
Post a pic of your set up. I`d be interested to see.

Cheers

Murdoch
