Howdy, new Buell owner in KC Metro North area, looking forward to meeting some of you riders here in KC area. I used to attend alot of Frankie D's Bike nights as the lead guitar player in the band Shwamp Rat, but my former bandmates laid too much drama on me and now I am just doing some blues jams and such and will be doing more riding on my X1W than guitar playing. Sunday night jams at the Triple Tree is one of my favorites for great music. |

Well, the road trip to Brian Nallins shop was fun.You just cant help but spend money on his products after talking to him and seeing how he does all his work! Its worth the drive to Colorado for sure. The trip was uneventful except for the time-out from the Kansas Highway Patrol for traveling a wee bit fast on Sams part, and the vile gases that seemed to escape Franks bung-hole from time to time, and I DO mean VILE!The HD Dealer in Fredrick, seemed to have a pretty good set up.They have a good Buell display ,bikes, cloths, and some accessories.Wish we had a local dealer who had a set-up like they had!If anybody is interested in making their bike run awsome,go herehttp://www.nallinracing.com/,you wont be dissappointed. Its nice to support a business that supports our Buells. |

No no no no no..... what we heard was the XB9S with force pipes on it. race ECM and force pipes... Nallin hadn't touched that bike. It was F*cken LOUD!!!! no understatement. crisp popping not as deep sounding as the race kitted X1's, It sounded uncorked (open headerish). way cool but too loud for me! The Nallin bike (XB12S) didn't have an exhaust on it, so it hadn't been started yet. they are waiting on a set of pipes with a larger collector on it, before they fire that one....total sleeper. That bike is gonna be KILLER! |

Sam, I talked to Brian today and asked him what he thought about XB9R race kit with Nallin 1200cc bore kit. He told me it would work with the addition of a tfi box, but they are working with a X1 PC configuration for the XB9R and not to go with the Buell ECM, if Im gonna go with the new Nallin pipe that is due to come out soon. Otherwise the factory race kit was fine except for losing some HP in the lower range, gaining in the upper range. Whats your thought, I'd like to take the bike out there and get the mods done, when I get a little cash and away from the prying eyes of my GF. Any thoughts?? |

A little cash? you're looking at, at least $5k.....still interested? maybe not quite that high...but ... slugs and jugs.................$1000 case boring ans assoc. labor...$500-?* * depending on how much of the teardown rebuild you're going to do headwork? .............up to...$1200 fuel system mods...............$225 min. outsourced labor(Nallins)......$65 an hour pipe and can...................$750 not gonna tell you what I think (smiling!) |

Hehehe!!! Brian quoted me around 4K. I better get it done soon because in July I won't be able to do Sh-eeeeot! It all sounds cool in theory! This might be my last chance to spend some cash on my toys. But then again I was gonna get a new rig which is about 4K, Richie would understand that one! Decisions, Decisions!!! Lets see.... $600.00 for stock race kit $4000.00 for Nallin Race Mods That turns out to be about $3400.00 differance for about 15-20 more HP than the Stock Buell race kit mods. Thats about $170.00 per HP differance. Hmmmm, Lots of money for speed and sound. But then again I would have the coolest Buell on the block! Damn, I know what I want, and Im not even having a midlife crisis. Maybe just a sudden change of life crisis! LOL!!! Anyone wanna donate just let me know, I'll use my bike as the test bike just to see how well the mods really work. See Ya, Joe |
