Im thinking about buying some XB-S Crossroads Clip-on Style Handlebars but don't know whether to go with the 0 degree or -7 degree. Has anyone put these on their bikes? How does each affect the riding position and what is the functional difference between the two? I appreciate any knowledge you might want to share. | ||

I just bought 0 degree and installing them this weekend. Most have the 0's. they keep your wrists staighter. | ||

I have the -7 degree and like them. I think that the issue for me is not the angle of droop (your wrists rotate through that axis quite easily), but the "splay" angle. My wrists do not rotate through that axis so easily. If the bars were angled back towards the rear of the bike a little more, I think there would be a world of difference in comfort. The problem with this is the clutch cable routing. It looks to me like the cable would have to make too sharp of a bend and it would cause a lot of drag on the cable. The instruction say to drop the forks but I did not have to. With this in mind and careful routing of the cables and wiring, it takes about an hour to install the bars. Hope this helps, Keith | ||

I have the -7 on mine and really like them. never tried the 0. can not go wrong with either, just depends if you want a more radical position or more normal. I like how the -7 put you more downward and I feel this improves the handling in the corners. | ||

I have the zero degree and love them as well. The zero degree are supposed to be a little easier on the wrists than the 7 degree. If you really have some questions, talk to Al at American Sport Bike. That's where I got mine and the guy is full of answers and a great help. | ||

Talk to Al @ AmericanSportBike. He is a sponsor here and a wealth of information. My install took me longer than most but that is probably due to my low comprehension of directions and my dog ate a piece of my throttle assembly! Eventually I drilled a hole through the instrument housing sideplate so that the clutch would not have that wicked "S" bend. I used a rubber grommet from the hardware store so it looks clean. I would recommend the reroute to anyone with these bars.   NUTS | ||

There was a recent thread on Laverda Clubmans bars recently, that you might find interesting. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/169730.html These bars are an alternative to the Crossroads. Advantages are lower cost, adjustibility, cool looks. | ||

Gentleman- Thanks, I have been searching for a pair of those The Laverda bars. The adjusting mechanism is really cool. Havent been able to find any? Anyone know where I could score a set? | ||

did anyone have a sticking throttle issue after installation. I seem to have a slight problem that I worked out to the best I could. It seems to only have a real issue when turned hard left, I cant honestly say that it wasnt there before with it stock but the bike is an 03 with 5k miles on it and extremly cared for so I would say that i doubt it. Also Did anyone else re route the cable like they dude with the custom drill out and groumet. Seems my clutch was a lil tighter to. I didnt lower the forks either, just loosend the gauge plate. |
