So i got the rest of the parts to finish the lightningbolt conversion...its all back together but now i think i'm going to replace the parts i painted...I still like the gloss black so i need to replace the airbox, flyscreen and front fender...no biggie i can still ride the way it is now...anyway thanks to Daves and Sweatmark for the parts necessary to do this project, i couldn't have gotten it done without you guys.....heres some pics old tail:

Bob - looks great! How's the seating position compared to the standard height XBS seat? And what's your estimate of any weight difference between the XBS and XBR tail setups? Had considered doing my own "weigh in" before shipping off the goods in that shiny new white box, but forgot. Mark Oregon |

mark.....as far as seating position it feels way better....i had the bike out today for a little while and it felt very comfortable....as for weight i don't have a clue.....i love the new look of the bike and i will be replacing my painted parts with factory gloss black...i'll probably sell the painted stuff after i find some nice used replacements...guess i'll have to keep an eye on e-bay or the classifieds Bob |

notice on your pics that you do not have the rear fender. was this a DIY mod that can be done by removing the rear fender and rebolting the license plate behind there? That looks good w/o the rear fender. Tell me how its done? Thanks!! |
