Hey there, Could someone tell me if the polished factory race muffler is polished aluminum, coated then polished, or what..I want to re-polish it but don't want to rub anything off...Thanks |

The race muffler is mild steel, jet hot coated. |

Dooley, I polished my race can on my 5hp buffer with just some finishing compound. The coating is pretty much the same as Jet-Hot ceramic coating. Use could use some Mothers Mag Wheel polish and do it by hand, but.... the running joke in my shop is "High Speed---No Drag". The bench buffer is much faster. I'll post a picture later tonight. Dan |

dull unpolished can
after a few minutes on the buffer it's not a mirror chromed finish, but much shinier than the stock finish. You can see the camera flash reflection highlight. |

I know it's not a pic of the muffler specifically but I just polished it by hand with mothers. It came out almost as good as a polished wheel does. |

That looks great! Anyone try to wire brush it with a drill attachment? |
