A suggestion:

Set up a survey with a list of questions to get a very preliminary idea of the numbers of people we're talking about. Shoot, do it in it's own thread with a similar title to the one here with "survey only" at the end of it. This way you can get a preliminary estimate of what numbers of people to expect and so forth. You can also set up the survey to gauge how badly some people want some aspect of the events, such as the tour. This way when you begin the initial conversations and negotiations you can have some preliminary numbers and percentages of participants to work with.

Something like this perhaps:

1. Ride from Hal's to Buell plant: A-definitely___, B-maybe___, C-nope___ (no reason necessary), D-unknown ___ (at this point in time)

2. Presentation of signatures to Erik at the factory parking lot: A-definitely___, B-maybe___, C-nope___ (no reason necessary), D-unknown ___ (at this point in time)

3. Factory tour if made available: A-definitely___, B-maybe___, C-nope___ (no reason necessary), D-unknown ___ (at this point in time)

4. Wednesday afternoon/evening guided rides: A-definitely___, B-maybe___, C-nope___ (no reason necessary), D-unknown ___ (at this point in time)

5. Wednesday night drag races: A-definitely___, B-maybe___, C-nope___ (no reason necessary), D-unknown ___ (at this point in time)

6. Wednesday night dinner (self-paid): A-definitely___, B-maybe___, C-nope___ (no reason necessary), D-unknown ___ (at this point in time)

7. Wednesday night after dinner/ after ride beverages and festivities: A-definitely___, B-maybe___, C-nope___ (no reason necessary), D-unknown ___ (at this point in time)

8. Thursday BattleTrax (if scheduled): A-definitely___, B-maybe___, C-nope___ (no reason necessary), D-unknown ___ (at this point in time)

9. Thursday afternoon guides or poker run: A-definitely___, B-maybe___, C-nope___ (no reason necessary), D-unknown ___ (at this point in time)

and so forth.... This way you will be able to say that based on initial estimates it looks like maybe 75 people will participate in the ride from Hal's to E.T., 200 people will be at the factory for the presentation (some getting out of work for lunch only), 25 people definitely want a factory tour, 25 people are iffy about a factory tour, 100 people said no to the tour as they've seen it before and would rather go ride, and 100 people are unknown about the tour, 25 people are interested in the BattleTrax and 25 people are either unknown or are iffy about it, and so forth. I'd go start the survey myself, but I won't. Just a suggestion to gather and collect data. Rule as you deem wise or just. :) And just a final suggestion, if you do set up a survey then don't micro-manage it and berate people if they expound too much, for in those expoundments you may find jewels and treasures of wisdoms that were previously unconsidered. Let people run, and harvest the fruits of their thoughts to help this event become all it can become. As always, YMMV. ;)

A light hand guides a happy horse, a heavy hand often finds resistence.

ps, You could also include questions on housing needs and price sensitivity in the survey.

Great idea Mike

Now here's were I ask for a volunteer....Does anyone know if it would be possible to set this as a web document that could be sent (say to myself?). I'm think some type of a template with any easy click on a square. There would also need to be a shortcut from this page.

Any takers on that project? It's beyond my scope of computer/internet knowledge:)

I dont apologize for anything. No reason to.

And actually I believe you were left out of the holy trinity at first. I dont know how its possible to put 4 into a trinity anyways.

You are better off just being Joe Boomer, carb cleaner extradordinaire.:D

And they claim women put up a good catfight, obviously "they" have never been to badweb.

Maybe its "that" time of the month:)

I don't know about needing an ass kicking but I DO know I need a vacation. With the weather being too cold for riding, I'll do the next best thing...

Ok, here is my two cents worth (like you all care anyway???)

Wednesday August 20th
7:30 - wake up, try to remember where the hangover came from, scratch myself

7:35 - look on kitchen table for leftover pizza for breakfest

7:40 - give dog leftover pizza that I didn't eat.

7:45 - take shower that is badly needed. notice bugs on forhead from riding yesterday.

8:30 - now that I have made myself bueatiful (or should I say Buelltiful) ride to Hal's and follow everyone else around Wisconsing till my girlfriend calls and tells me to come home...

I got total faith that whatever happens that week because there are a few things are definate...
1. Somebody will say somthing funny that will all make us laugh
2. we are going to put some miles on our bikes
3. I am going to meet a lot of BWB and ATC people
4. we are all going to see ALOT of Buells with lots of cool little custom ideas that make the bikes better.
5. When it's all over we are all going to be tired but happy...

The only question I have is if all you people come into town, where are we going to find enough computers at an event so we can all post tons of messages on BWB while we are all sitting next to each other?

Spidey.. Kick butt??? Sure you are. Just so you know I have been practicing. I set up all the furniture in the living room in a course format and chase the dog while remembering to drag my knee. It gets warm waring leathers in the living room.

I have never done a batle trax as I just started riding last year, but I will be practicing this summer so I don't embaress myself in public.

Just remeber keep it smooth and slow. Pick your lines and drag them pegs.
I placed top 5 at the Motorcity muscle bike challenge here in Detroit. (I'm pretty sure never got a final tally but i was running one of the best times) with a broken shock.

Dyna-pic broke, sometimes a good thing at a workish environment. Going slow and peg dragging don't often go together. Rip and crank, or smooth and steady wins the day. ;) Asskickin' I'd rather watch from the friendly side of a tv tube.
