Well did my 8000km (5000 mile) service today. I Put some Amsoil 20/50 full syn oil in, Put on some perelli syncs, and decided to wrap my headers. Must say the bike is getting better all the time!

ask and you shall recieve. Um installation was fairly easy. I used 4 hose clamps. Did the front pipe first bringing it down to where the 2 pipe come together. Then I did the rear pipe over lappingg on the front one before going to the muffler

Yes there is no other way to really do it... one tip though put the hose clamps on first loose then feed the wrap through it and tighten I also used zap straps to keep it tight when i wanted to take a break or just to make it easier! good luck! |

Put a wrapped up little doll's head up there in the "Y" and it would look like a mummy. A nice touch, especially around Halloween. |

Does it really get hot enuf that wrapping is necessary? I'm not crazy about the look. Perhaps in black tho... |

Nice work! Can you take a front pic? I'm thinking about putting on the Acerbis guards and would like to see what it looks like straight-on. I've thought about wrapping the headers but am also not crazy about the look. Thinking about going with a ceramic coating from these guys: http://www.hpcoatings.com I know they do Buell stuff. |

LOL you should see all the replies I've got on my sportsbike forum, no one likes it. I guess that means it's doing it's job |

I had thought I might do that at some point, but then I was told that the headers are already coated. I guess I'm wondering if it would be worth it. |

I'm not sure if the information about them already being coated is correct... Since they change color from silver to gold after a number of heat cycles, doesn't that indicate they haven't been coated? |

Windaddicition, with the heat in Texas, this may be a necessity. Can you tell any difference? Also, is that an Air scoop on the right side? How does that work too?? |

A lot less heat sitting in traffic, it isnt real warm yet here but I'm sure it will make a positive difference. Have not noticed any performance gains though. That scoop is juts stock... urs should have it! |

You are right, that is the stock one once I look past the wrappings!! OOps! I remember seeing somewhere in the Big, Bad and Dirty that a rider put on a larger RH scoop, more like the one on the LH side. Thought it was yours and was hoping for good feedback, too. |
