Blake, Which chart thingy? The one on the bars or the one on the dash? The one on the dash is the route sheet. The one on the bars I don't know. Rick Don't feel so bad. I would have loved to ride with Lakeland BRAG this morning. I have two perfectly good bikes with not a thing wrong with either one. Alas I am at work looking outside and seeing the nice riding weather and wishing I was somewhere else. I would rather be working on my bike than here! Have fun fixing that tag bracket. Dave. | |||

Well, the problem is that I cut half the mount off 'cause it was breaking lighting brackets (about $30) and tail lights ($25)...so only 2 bolts can hold it on. It worked great for about a week. First, I'm going to support it with a metal flange...and if it continues to fall apart I'll strap the pieces underneath the tail section  At least this is the only problem I've had in some time. | |||

Rick, Florida tags like to do that when unsupported. My brothers X1 shredded his tag when he cut down the mount. I just have a small strip of plastic vertically down the middle of my tag. I also isolated it from the tail section with a piece of old mouse pad cut in the shape of my taillight. JT | |||

Lgpch, Your "remove the bracket" post was deleted. Removing the front engine support bracket is not something we should be recommending to everyone. The risks are simply too high. Besides, that would belong in the "Chasis" section of the Knowledge Vault.  Thank you for understanding. | |||

In response to the moderator deleting my post, please let me respond. I absolutely respect your reasoning and decision behind deleting a post that may provide information on a mechanical procedure, that when improperly performed by an untrained individual, could result in a catastrophic breakdown of essential components. This could then result in an injury to the rider, up to and including termination from this life. If anyone is going to do their own work on their own bike, they should do so with the same amount of thought and responsibility one should deploy when riding it. When I work on my bike, if I am interested in making a modification or removing parts, I always read the owners manual, consult the right people, and make absolutely certain I am informed of exactly what I am getting into. The reason I prefer to do my own work whenever possible is because I care about my own ass more than any person wrenching on my bike ever would. I mean no offense meant towards any professional mechanics by saying that either. For those of you who will never read the post in question, it was vague and concerned an essential component of the bike. The moderator was correct in deleting it. I just wanted to make it known that I do not just go pulling stuff off of my bike and throw it back on. My apologies. | |||

John, Funny you mentioned that. Yesterday was the first day I started and rode my bike since riding it back from Deals Gap on September 15th. That would be four months... After riding my SV650 for such a long time, getting on the S3 was a shock. I had to re-learn to shift slower and with greater travel , pull harder on the clutch, push harder on the handlebars to get it to turn, being back on my tippie toes at stoplights and have to deal with the additional vibration and noise because the exhaust is only holding on to three studs instead of four. I rode to the dealer, we had our DCBRAG meeting, then I rode to fellow DCBRAG member Bobbie's garage (which is also attached to a home, image that) to see what we could do. First he tried trying to spot weld a nut to the reamaining stud, but the remnants of the ez out that broke when you were trying to remove the stud would not let him get a good bond. So we decided to pull off the front head, which we did. Bobbie will try to drill out the remaining stud and put a new one on. The man has many many tools....... The bike had to stay there, so Linda had to drive over and pick me up, but we had a nice Lassagna dinner and saw the end of the Pitt-Tenn game before we left, with some of Linda's nicely blended Piña Coladas. However, there is significant carbon buildup on the front head and the top of the piston. It also looks like the valve seals are shot. I think I'll pull the rear also to clean everything up before putting it back together. If I go to his place today I'll take some pictures and post them. In the meantime I'm looking at better valve guides and seals to get to put back in the head before putting it back together. I'll probably get some stuff from Zipper's, our local "$peed" shop. ____________________________________________________ Great FUELL this month, has some really intereting pictures from some Dave Gess fellow. I would have liked to ride with Lakeland BRAG yesterday as well, but 1. I was stuck in the plant all day, and 2. I don't have my bike down here at the moment. However, in the not too distant future, I will be doing a HUGE project near Allentown, and look forward to riding the Poconos, etc. in the evenings and a few weekends! | |||

One more thing noteworthy in the new FUELL They expanded the Daytona event schedule by two days, from March 4-9 as shown in buell.com, to March 2-9 in FUELL, and they actually encourage folks to go to the FUSA Daytona event, March 1-2 at the Speedway. Well done, thanks BRAG! | |||

They sold 200 of them on the first day they were offered! Some people (at least 200 of them) seem to have more dollars than sense. If there were ever to be a revolution in the good 'ol U.S. of A., I'm convinced it would begin in NYC. I mean, how often can a homeless person see affluent people lined up outside of a restaurant that features $41.00 hamburgers and not become militant to the point of being willing kill otherwise innocent people to avenge the loss of the American dream of equality? NYC might be (and, in fact, IS!) the capital of the world but the "World" might be in more trouble than most of us think. | |||

No, and I didn't pay $14 to stand in a 450 yard line for the IMS Show to see what I can walk into any dealers showroom and see. New York City has 18,000 licensed restaurants, arguably the best choice of dining in the world. If it's burgers you want, I have a list of "Court's Best 10". I don't waste time or money, I just go a couple blocks from the house to Duffy's Bar. Frequently voted as NYC's best burger it'll set you back about $5.00 with the fabled criss-cut fries. Bonus is that afterward, I wander accross the street to Mandolin Brothers (the WORLD's guitar mecca) wander the rooms, oogle the guitars (up to Hank Williams leftover priced at $64,000) and listen to folks like Paul Simon and Lenny Kravitz jam....ever heard Lenny play a National Guitar? Anyway....I've eaten expensive food (Il Mulino = $500 for 3) and I've eaten cheap (Rosie's Diner in Long Island City) the salient difference, as in Hemet, CA is surrounding, not necessarily quality or taste of the food. The most I have ever paid for a dinner was for the wife and I at K-Pauls louisiana Kitchen in New Orleans at Christmas time. $125 before tip & that was without any type of bar tab added on. The food was killer but I wouldnt do it again. | |||

New York, San Francisco and New Orleans allow you to get bit as hard as you'd like....as with motorcycles, "more is not always better". My favorite New York City dining comes on my midnight under the full moon trips to some favorite coffee spots and a secret place that makes individual cheesecakes.
