Hi all, Heading out for a long ride this weekend. Lately, I've felt what feels like dry or gunked up bearings in the front when the wheel is off the ground and spun by hand. I didn't feel comfortable chancing it on a 500 mile ride. Dealer can't get stockers for 5-7 days, so I went through Kaman Industrial Technologies http://www.kamandirect.com/ and bought the NSK bearings and will have them installed tomorrow. These have black seals and I was wondering if there is any relation to the original black seal factory bearings. I gave them the part numbers posted here in the KV and this is exactly what they crossed to. I was thinking the orange seals were a special color spec'd by the factory to visually differentiate the new ones from the old ones. What exactly was the problem with the factory black seal bearings? |

Nope, not a Uly -- an '04 XB12S. Came original with the orange seals and am replacing the bearings. The new ones are NSKs bought NOT from the dealer. I was simply curious if the orange seal was specified by the factory simply for visual identification. The NSK part numbers are: 6005VVC3 -- Front 6006VVC3 -- Rear |
