Well went out this morning to head off to work and bike was no where to be found. Filed a police report and insurance claim and should hear back in 2 weeks. Meanwhile I am trying to get some trade-in pricing information so the insurance company doesn't low ball me. Anyone have some ideas on a cost for a 2004 XB12r? On a side note I wanted to personally thank Daves and Al for parts over the years. It been a good run and this board has been great. Aloha Tatsu |

It's crazy how many bikes get stolen on Oahu. (I kinda grew up there, my family is from and still is there). Motorcyclist said more bikes get stolen there than any other place in the U.S.. Weird. Sorry to hear about it Tatsu, maybe it will come back? |

Yeah sorry man. i live on Oahu for a couple years and it always surprised me. not like you can get it easily out of the state or country for that matter. ill look out for it here in Iraq. i think most of the vehicles we have here are stolen from somewhere... mostly Texas from the license plates i see. Damn that sux Tim |

Hey thanks... What's happening is there is a group that are targeting Harley's and like models and selling them on the black market in Japan. It's like a rash of them are getting stolen. Oh well. Tatsu |

That sucks! I have been there. My first HD was stolen in 85. Still not over it. The good news is you can always get another one. |

Sorry to hear about your bike, that sucks! 2 years ago, my buddies 2004 R1 was stolen less than 6 months after he got it. I can only guess how it feels though. I'm worried about that this year for my bike. I moved into a townhouse and I don't have a garage anymore, so the bike will need to be outside in one of my parking spaces. I'm planning on parking it sideways in front of my car, installing an alarm (probably Scorpio) and installing a Kryptonite StrongHold Anchor to chain it to. |

I looked it up on NADA.com and it said between $5,600 and $7,400 for a 2004 12R, but it didn't take mileage in to account. The insurance company should give you on the high side and I believe you can get them to cover registration and some other stuff. |

Sorry for the loss, I have had many things stolen from me but never a bike, I hope you get a better one when it is all over. Thieves first have to get past the dogs, then the locks, then finally they must get past a gun wielding owner who thinks we should cut of limbs for stealing. Sorry to hear about your bike being stolen. I used to worry about my bikes when I lived in San Diego. Is Lo-Jack available in Hawaii? I know they have a system for bikes now. With the theft rate there I'd install one. I hope you get another one and stick around. |
