Just wondering if anyone can help me. The service manual seems kind of vague. It looks like it shows an o-ring that goes at the bottom of the clutch cable into the tranny, but my clutch cable didn't come with one. Does it need one? If so, where the heck does it go? Also, I put a D&D muff on a firebolt, and the instructions don't list any torque. Since it doesn't use the same hardware as stock, I was wondering if anyone knew the torque spec for the 1) rear clamp / or if using 2 rear clamps, 2) the hanger bolt that hold the muff up, and 3) the clamp that attaches to the exhaust header. Thanks for anyones help! |

If that is like the tubers, the O-ring is s slightly snug fit as it slides over the threaded shank of the cable housing. You can probably pick up one that will work out of the assortments at a auto parts store. The threaded shank does not need to be real tight, just enough to get the O-ring to seal against the housing. The threaded shank on the cable housing, is aluminum and will break pretty easily if you try to get it too tight. Jack |
