Does anyone have any opinions on aftermarket seats for the XBR?? The Corbin Seat costs something like $260 and the Buell Seat is $150. Any huge difference between stock?? |

Erik, I've had the stock, Buell streetfighter, and now the Corbin... I haven't even seen the new Select seat in person, but I doubt it's as good as the Corbin.. Larry |

Have the Corbin seat that I purchased off of e-bay used which was a deal. Rode the stock seat for sometime with only being able to sit a couple of hours in the saddle. The Corbin cured that though. Daves, exotic sportbikes, american sells them . Check it out. Makes a difference. |

I asked for Select seat info on another post. Me thinks it's a myth. |

Oh okay. "Select Seat" is for the Lightning. Does DaveS sell the Corbin seat for the Firebolt? Some say the Corbin fits the '03 Firebolt and others say it doesn't. Any clarification? |

Hey everyone I just bought a XB12CG and i was wondering since it's the low already and i am super short, how much does the corbin seat raise the height of the seat? Or has anyone used a Gel seat in it. I need to keep the 28.5" height otherwise i am not touching the ground at all. I am already tip toe on it. Suggestions anyone?? |

I had an older Buell Streetfighter seat for about 2 years on my 9S. I just got my new Corbin. It's like a new bike. I highly recommend the Corbin. It is much more comfortable. The whole bike and riding position just feel better. I got mine from AL at http://www.americansportbike.com/ cause he has them making a version with a flatter back part than what Corbin offers directly. Not to mention excellent customer service. Littleone, do yourself a favor, buy a pair of boots with high soles and heels, no need to tip-toe. Then you may be able to use a comfortable seat. |

Daveinm, do you, or does anyone else, have any pictures of the "flatter" Corbin seat on a bike? Any opinions on it compared to the standard Corbin? |

Littleone, If you talk with Corbin, I think they would custom a seat for you, maybe lower, but also a little narrower in the front. On edit: Gel mutes vibration, and it shapes to the body but has little resiliance or "give". In a thin seat it may not be the best thing to use. In a thicker seat with foam it's a good idea. Hey Littleone, Since everything about you is special, and that is what makes you so wonderful, check around with the Buell dealers until you find someone with a "take off" seat or one from a wrecked XB. I think since you are in this for the long haul, you should take the seat to a custom seat place. With the factory seat frame, they can customize one to your specific needs. In the end,(no pun intended)it will be worth the expense and time if you plan on spending much time in the saddle... |

Thanks everyone. I think that i am going take the seat in and custom it. I want it softer for longer rides. Since i am only 4ft10"3/4 ( i have to put the 3/4" in) I have to keep it low. I will have to look into local guys that do seats. Thanks I get the bike in the morning! YAH! |

I've always heard Sargent seat does the best as far as customizing goes. Check it out. |

Sargent recovered the seat for my 85 Interceptor and they did an excellent job. The gel is really nice for long rides! I have an American Sport Bike Corbin on my XB and although it is only a little higher than the stock seat, the seating area is wider which makes it feel even taller than it is. My wife went from being able to comfortably put both feet on the ground to having to tip-toe when I switched the seats, but for me, it's perfect! WT |

Here's my seat. The whole thing is black leather with carbon fiber texture, except for the strip of smooth black vinyl that goes across it. I asked for the corbin logo on the front, centered, instead of the little tag they put on the side. I also asked for the bucket length to be an inch longer...I'm 230 lbs., I need the space I also like the flatter style much more. I haven't had a passenger yet, but it looks like there is still enough room. Good thing I like smaller women The whole bike feels more comfortable. The overall riding position is much better. It feels much lower than the streetfighter seat I had on it. I'm very pleased and would definitely recommend it
