have read about a couple of test where the the only thing changed was the intake manifold and it had no affect to little affect on the performance of the machine. mods to the filter and intake mouth or venturi had a much larger effect. personally i would just clean up my stock and remove the casting lines, save the money for something with a little more gains,,, but that is just my take on the subject..P.S. not to say that an improved intake tract dosent help performance,, just that many things must be first moddified before gains can be successfully sought here... | ||

polishing intake tracts can reduce the turbulence caused by the as-cast finish -- the turbulence is desirable as it makes the air/fuel mixture more consistant throughout -- removing parting lines from the casting IS a good thing to do, however short version, like Aaomy and Oldhound said ;-} | ||
