I`ve been hearing about the 2007 XB`s from friends and techs who work at Buells dealers for about a month. They have been talking about the new motor using some of the changes that the XBRR motor has with some upgrades and an increase in displacement to 1350cc. The rwhp is supposed to be 115hp which would make the XB an incredible ride. The info is from two seperate sources, has anyone else heard anything about the new 07`s. This could be a big year for Buell! |

MY = model year. In short, when '07 bikes come out and they don't have 115 RWHP, maybe then you'll believe me. Don't know why Buell techs would say this, it must be because of the XBRR. The 1350 XBRR is not the predecesor of production engines, it is a production XB12R modified to meet AMA FX rules. What it does show is that the stock chassis is totally competitive no matter how much power is in it. And that pushrod air colled motors can be hot-rodded to make lots of power. But there won't be a 2007 street 1350. |

Anonymous, How about a 1203cc version of the XBRR motor? Single 62mm throttle body, aluminum covers instead of magnesium. Standard valves instead of titanum. Most customers would like an electric starter, and bigger battery also. That would make more sense for the street. |

Anonymous Why would HD/Buell spend their hard earned cash on R&D and tooling for the XBRR motor and not at least use the improved engine cases in the 2007 street production XB motorcycles? Also those improved cases make the XBRR engine not a modified XB12R engine but a completely new design by the AMA's own definition. As long as the 2007 XB12R (that the XBRR is based on) uses the new case design the race bikes legal status to race Formula Extreme will survive any protest the Japanese teams come up with. |

If you have been hearing about 2007 Buells from "friends" and "techs who work for Buell" ,let me offer two suggestions. 1) Chose your friends more carefully....the ones you presently have me be snookering you. 2) Help the Buell folks polish up their resume's....they'll need them quicker than they thought. Just a thought. . . . Court |

I don`t think these guys have any reason to lie. They are Buell fans just like us. They seemed to be very sure of the 115hp and a increase in cc maybe up to 1350. I remember a couple of years ago when there were rumors about an XB12 coming out with a 1200cc motor and how Anonymous and alot of other people was posting saying no way or never. You know what happened a month later? Buell released the XB12! Does anyone remember that? And for Anonymous (who could be 12 year old kid for all we know) grow a set of balls and post with a name. |

Maybe if anony is right we should take away posting rights from all who have claimed there will be a 115 HP 1350? Remember who was right when the '07s come out, Medic, and maybe you won't listen to your friends again. |

I don't know one way or the other. I do doubt that a person working for/at a dealership would be privy to such info. It would take more than a "few" RR parts to gain 25-30 HP over the current bikes. The upping the cc to 1350 would get you part of the way but I don't really see that happening. Maybe 1340 like the RR. We will all KNOW in July. Up til then it's all rumor, just like every year. Anytime a person at Buell,a race team or a dealership is privy to early info,it sure would be great if they could keep their mouths shut. I know that people at Buell and the race teams do a good job of that. Buell does not tell dealership people early info. If Buell wanted everyone to know they would just announce it. I cannot imagine betraying a trust like that. Remember "loose lips, sink ships" PS They weren't at Hooter's were they? |

Take 1 XB12 add one Revolution Performance Bolt in 1250 Kit a pair of RP Stage 3 Heads with RS 585-V2 Cams, 52mm TB / American Sport Bike Open Airbox coming in and a Micron Pipe going out = over 115 RWHP. Then Hold on ... Terry |

Et Al, If you want to be first on your block for the new Buell, talk to your favorite dealer. If he knows what you would be willing to buy and it is shown somewhere he can order it, they will. It is a straight forward process. They sell these things for a living, let em know what you want so when the manufacturer rep asks how many of this "hypothetical" new model do you think you can sell, they have something other than a guess. Every manufacturer uses focus groups and influential dealers to get an idea of what will SELL!! Information is out there and most of it is pure BS, but if enough customers want something it may just show up. My bet is that Buell really enjoys the enthusiasm generated by the "X" and is just chomping at the bit for another successful model. For those of us that have owned Buells for more than ten years, this is really the "Best of Times". Off to wallow in the Kool-Aid some more. |

if Erik Buell wants to know what buell owners/people wish in a 2007 model, the only thing he needs is typing: " www.badweatherbikers.com" on his internet browser. there's no need to read tons of satisfaction's surveys reports (those I get once a year by mail) or asking to "influential dealers" they know for sure what people want...but it requires big $$$ to put on a stock bike. my 0.02 |

Medic, No offense intended, but someone who *WOULD* know this type of info wouldn't tell someone who would potentially post said info. Either that, or they don't value their job. I have several friends and family that work in high places at both HD and Buell(I live pretty much smack between the two factories). I spent a good 8 hours going down to the IMS show with one of 'em. I've NEVER seriously asked any of them inside info, because I know if they *DO* tell, and it gets out. It's their job on the line. Posting this type of speculation can potentially hurt the livelyhood of people like Daves. |

>>>>I've NEVER seriously asked any of them inside info, because I know if they *DO* tell, and it gets out. It's their job on the line. Absolutely. There are a group of us who probably COULD know if we had any desire. Folks say things innocently and by accident. I know for a fact that Dave Gess and I go to lengths NOT to know. You don't have to look far to find ex-employees who mouths got'em in trouble. I've got a 1350cc 120RWHP S-2 on the way, but not from the factory.....it's coming from a secret undisclosed location. :-o) |

Hey i don`t know 100% if its true or not either. I hope it is because that would be the perfect bike! It certainly doesn`t seem that far fetched does it? These people have been involved with Buell for quite some time and have been involved with race teams too. I will stop down and try to get some more info wed or thurs of this week. The only reason i posted the info to see if anyone else had heard the same or similar info. This wasn`t the first time i`ve heard it either. Go Buell! |

Sorry but if (and it's a big if) Buell was going to release a 115hp model than the dealers nor anyone involved with the dealer would leak such info. Doing so would put sales of currnet and last years model Buells at a total standstill. Personally I don't see any employee of Buell wanting to hurt sales. |

value of xb9s would drop to an all time low. value of xb12 would even drop after all 1200 at 100hp is alot less than 13xx at 120-130hp. my question is ?? can a 120-130hp Buell meet EPA rules? |

I don`t think the idea was to hurt sales, rather the opposite. Create more interest in current and soon to be released Buell motorcycles and to show that existing XB`s have huge possiblities. The XBRR project isn`t hurting current Buell sales, i think its helping them! Sooner or later there will be changes in the XB line up right? I mean the platform is going on 5 years old! If anything its probably overdue for changes.Do you think Buell will never modify the XB motor or platform again? |

"I don`t think the idea was to hurt sales, rather the opposite." Announce what may be in the '07 lineup to boost sales of '06 models? Name any business that has been successful doing that. |
