Not sure that just having your name on the list is indicative of intentions of running the race. Might just be a way to get some practice time for the guys who are only running a single class. You'd think they'd enter Superstock though. Would be very cool with Mladin, Hodgson and BBoz on the grid. It would be cool if Ducati fielded an air-cooled entry in the FX race. I'm thinking though that it's likely that they'd enter a 749R variant. I still recall Jeff Nash talking about how Duc had a 749R running all day flat out on a test track in Germany a few years back, and that it was making 150 HP. Personally I don't know why they have people listed for the 200 that have no intention of racing. Mat, Ben B., and Neil will not be racing the 200 no matter what some list say. Perhaps José could chime in and offer his explanation of why said riders are on list. (Message edited by JScott on February 17, 2006) |

They have them on the list.. to try and scare those big bad Buells away.. Hoping they pack up and go home at the thought of having to ride against all the top SuperBike riders.. .. .. Yeah, I know.. But one can dream.. right? |

I believe that some teams enter riders in other classes simply for the practice track time. They will ride bikes sometimes that do not qualify for that class, and will simply drop off of the grid when they don't show for qualifying. This worked more easily when 750SS was around... now it would be more easy to do on a 600 in both FX and SS. Or Superstock/Superbike. |

#324 Rico Penzkofer was added to the FX list today. If you think riders are on that list for practice time for other events, or to scare the competition, you are sadly mistaken. 205 on the FX list, and counting. Only 80 spots available. |

Correction, now 211 on the FX list, as of today. |

You may want to read the latest press release from Honda over on the Superbike Planet site. I'd post it here, but we know how finicky some people are about such things. |

Posting a press release or link to it is fine. A press release is meant for free public distribution and is not part of a for profit publication's copyrighted content. Posting copyrighted magazine articles without permission is an entirely different thing. I believe that most people understand this concept. |

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2006/Feb/060218e.htm Reminds me of a spoiled rotten child throwing a tantrum. Good riddance! If they had integrity, they would boycott FX. They aren't. So what is the point? Answer, theatrics and whining. It's great for Honda when the rules changes work out for them, like when the AMA disallowed custom throttle bodies in Superbike and gee golly Honda by chance had just instituted dual injector throttle bodies in their CBR1000RR street bike. Or how about when by some strange streak of coincidence HRC had already developed a 990cc V5 racing machine when the folks at FIM made it official that MotoGP would be going to 990cc four-stroke machines. Didn't hear any whining or objecting or see any silly theatrics from Honda then did we? Nope. Poor little Honda, wah-wah-boo-hoo. Real men race. |

Blake, I think Rico is being sponsored by Hannover Buell and Bryan rides for Harding Buell. Jim, If I were you I wouldn't hold my breath expecting that everyone (even the big name guys)you see on the list will actually be on the FX starting grid. |
