I was riding my favorite steep and VERY twisty road when the engine lost power and began lurching like it was running out of fuel. I stopped the bike and let it sit for a couple of minutes before attempting to re-start. The fuel pump sounded a bit odd when I armed the ignition but the engine fired up. I know I was a bit low on fuel but the indicator light never came on (still had 1.3 gal. left in the tank) and the pump sounds normal now. If I have the bike on some heavy lean angles with only a gallon of gas in the tank will the engine/fuel pump lose fuel? Could this be a bad fuel injection pump? }} |

Did it do this pointed uphill or downhill? Maybe the tank vent is not venting properly? |

I was climbing uphill when it cut out. I did open the cap on the tank and did not hear any vacuum noise from it. I will look in the shop manual for the vent line. Good idea...thanks.}} |

I've only heard of prolonged hard braking causing fuel starvation issues. Leaning as you traverse a curve should have no significant effect. |

I ran the same road today on a full tank of gas, mellow at first then got after it... No problems. I dunno. I have to take the bike in for a recall on the horn wiring harness and will have them plug into the machine for a test. Fuel pressure test might be in order as well. Had a great time though... love that road.}} |
