That really cool but what class is it good for? 1300cc is pretty huge. How far could they have made it with the stock 1203cc displacement? |

Wow!! Well, I harken back to my cigar smoke out with Erik Buell after Rocky Point at Laguna last year. He said off handedly that Buell would have something to go racing with real soon. I thought maybe he let something slip that he didn't mean to, so I let it go and didn't ask a follow up question. I just appreciated the company and cigars. Mama-Mia! |

By the way, Honda will not be the only manufacturer scrambling for one of these. Make no mistake, they may not say so, but I think several other folks are keeping a very close eye on Buell. I suspect more people in further distant lands will following Daytona. |

I hope/wish Pascal will be racing a Buell for 2006, but he appears pretty heavily involved with Yamaha currently. Although I believe it is his team, so he may be able to make the switch. I wish we would see some legit press releases concerning the racers, I am going bonkers trying to find some concrete info. |

I'll go out on a limb and say if a Buell wins or more realistically podiums in the 200 there will be a huge uproar over the displacement advantage over the 4 cylinders. |

Your probably right Jimmy. First they say we can't do it, then if we do they say it's not fair. No win for us. |

In case any of you missed it. I've been reading a small amount of groaning over only 50 being produced. This came from this link. http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=24881 A short production run of Firebolt XB-RRs will happen in February, and full production is scheduled to begin in April 2006. Suggested retail price will be $30,995. For all we know they start with 50 just so it qualifies. Then they make more. This is going to be very interesting. much of racing takes place in smoke filled back rooms -- sad, but true I just think it's GREAT that the Elves have done this -- too freakin cool! |

Don't worry Jimmy, there are too many Hondas, Yamahas, Suzukis and Kawasakis to get around for this bike to get close to a podium in the Daytona 200. There will be 50-some bikes out there for the 200, with factory teams. |

I will not be suprised at all to see the XBRR on the box at Daytona. I predict this bike will podium several times this year. The only missing link is who is going to be racing it (officialy). |

Jim, I can only think of 2 factory teams participating in the 200 - Honda (Duhamel and Zemke) and Yamaha (Disalvo and Bostrom) and the Erion satellite team (Hayes and Bucky). I haven't heard for sure if Zemke and possibly Hacker will run it. The rest of the field will be privateers with the same level or less support as Buell. This bike has plenty good of a chance of being on the podium. |

Well, being that big brother came out with a full on drag race version of the VRod to make it easy for racers to get into a bike and run it like it was meant to be, it only seems to fit that Buell would soon follow suit to ever increase it's position in the race circuits of their own rights with a set from the factory race bike like the rest of the race community has available to them. I can't wait to see them run!!! Great to hear Buell is really pushing the "get out and get noticed on the track" issue!! |

Don't put the cart before the horse. Be happy they finally put a real effort into racing. Hell, Harley has a $30K V-Rod. Give the bike, team and rider, whom ever that may , time to mature. To say they'll podium at Daytona may be pushing things. I'd be happy to see them finish the race. Top 10 would be even sweeter. Hopefully they can pull it all together and kick some asses at Road America in front of the Homecoming Crowd and the bikes "Home State". Either way, I look forward to hearing it crankin' around the Track! |

Thanks for the pics =) So many new things! Just looking at the primary cover you can almost see plans for a hydraulic clutch and/or the slipper clutch. I'm curious what the new (from the website) "Transmission Type Gorilla: 5-speed, Close-ratio, with concentric input and output shafts, straight-cut gears" }looks like. I was also going to poste a quote about the valvetrain and the mention of a new lifter system, but it seems they've already changed the info. |
