First of all thank you to all the guys that showed up tonight. Second, sorry some of ya'll couldn't make it. I think that it was a very productive meeting.(thanks to road thing for the meeting place...that bartender was hot!)Anyways, We discussed the problem of physical location for alot of could be members. Once we get up and running we will get that ironed out and set a meeting place that will not carry any one person too far. There is alot involved and we have decided to keep it low key for right now and learn all we can from the HOG chapters and then break away as our own seperate group. I need everyone interested to be at Republic's HOG meeting this next Sun. at 10:30 for a little recon mission. Also I still need Officers and others interested in working on this with us as well as taking part in the festivities. I think we have an excellent core group to start out with and as time goes on we will accumulate more members. X1glider has been extremely helpful in providing info on how these clubs are to be run. Birdsong and Roadrunner if you need any more info let me know. Anyone of ya'll that needs to contact me regarding anything My e-mail is Rsmith@republichd.com or you can call me at the shop at 281-295-1000 ext.109. The dealership has promised their full support on this. They have provided us with a web page that will be our own that you can check out here------> Future BRAG site If you have any suggestions about adding anything to the web page please let me know as I will be taking care of this part. We have a long way to go and I wil need EVERYONE'S help in making this what we all want it to be. Thanks Ross Republic H-D/Buell Ride Hard! |

Cut and pasted from SacBORG per Reg Kittrel: There will be a special BattleTrax on Saturday, November 23 at Republic Harley-Davidson/Buell, 12707 Southwest Freeway, Stafford (Houston), Texas. Starts at 9am, finishes at 5pm. Info at 866/843/6481. I'm still questioning the ability to run it in the Republic parking lot. |

X1G: I posted that question on SacBORG, but no response yet. Maybe they're gonna cone off the SW freeway feeder road and hold it there! r-t |

RT, it's supposed to be a battletrax, not a off road rally! |

Seabrook is a bit of a haul. Especially for the Woodlands and Magnolia types! Can't imagine what I'd get out of it that I haven't from my own HOG chapter. I might bail on it. Possibility of a track day. If we would actually accomplish a task to get the club moving along, that'd be different. But for observation only, nah. BTW, since I forgot to say it Sunday, I can only help to get the ball rolling, I can not be an officer since I will be out of the country for 10 out of 12 months starting in January. I can be a member tho since I will be coming and going every 3-4 weeks. |

Hey fellas just wanted to see if anyone would be interested in any carbon fiber pieces off of an X1? I've got the rear fender, front sprocket guard, and the lower belt guard. If you do or know anyone that does let me know. |

Houston Buellers, photo is what happens when you’re recovering from shoulder surgery and can’t ride your bike. Road Runner wanted me to post it, so here it is. I hate idiot lights and my M2 was not any different. The gauges are Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature (elect.) made by Auto Meter. The gauges are Auto Meters small, white-faced "Phantom" series gauges. Anyone up for a ride this Sunday if the weather holds out?? |

That is sharp. I should break my shoulder too. Maybe some creative juice would flow out. The gauges look like an exact match. Did the gauges come with sensors or was that extra? Where'd you put the oil temp sensor? In the oil tank? Inquiring minds want to know. RR, Thanks for making him post that. |

Hootowl, Yes the gauges came with all the hard ware and sensors, I even have fittings left over. I opted to go with an electric oil temperature gauge so I wouldn’t have to worry about the capillary line getting broken or pinched around the steering head when using a mechanical type oil temperature gauge. The oil pressure gauge installation was straight forward, I just installed a Tee where the factory oil pressure sending unit was and ran plastic tubing up to the gauge. At first I mounted the oil temp gauge down in front of the engine where the oil pressure sending unit was but soon found out that since this was a “dead” area where no real oil flow takes place, I never really saw true engine temp. Also, the front of the engine gets quite a bit of forced convection cooling and this didn’t help matters either. I placed the temp sensor in the oil return line back to the oil holding tank (note: you’ll need a separate ground wire directly mounted to the sensor as it is no longer grounded to the engine). Gauges are back lit (12vdc) and I just tapped into the existing wiring for the factory gauges. So, far everything is working great!! I’ve learned a great deal about ambient air temperature and what the effects are on over all engine oil temp. Hope this helps. If you want more pics of installation, I can post those too. RR. The baby isn’t here yet!! Just push your bike down the street, start it up and we’ll meet you at the Texaco station. She’ll never know your gone. |

Screw it, I'm going. It'll be a sacrifice, but I'll go the five or six miles to get there. Where should we meet? It'll make up for all the times I have to go 60 or more miles to meet up for the Bakery Runs. |

Rem, B2M2, any other north Houston Buellers--are you going to Seabrook? I'm waiting on a well log and may or may not be able to make it, but you guys could stop by here and have coffee on the way. If my well's down by then I might be able to go. Rem knows where the house is, and he has the phone #, too. r-t |
