XB9R-XB9S 2002-2003 71240 72345 Apparently Marchesini makes wheels to fit the ZTL rotor on the front as well as rear wheels. One company's website says the won't fit the 12's, but they must be wrong because the stock wheels fit either... This means you can buy Marchesini forged aluminum or forged magnesium for race in 10 Y-Spoke design. |

Thanks for the heads up, Bolt. According to 1Tail.com: http://www.1tail.com/sa/c/Marchesini_Wheels.htm These wheels are rather pricey: Forged Rear $1284 Forged Front; $1164 Cast are $215 less. Shipping is free. That would be $2448 for the top of the line set. I think I'll just polish the ones I have, but one can always dream, right? The Marchesini site is: http://www.marchesiniwheels.com/ENG/Upgrade/upgradedesign.htm Unfortunately the site does not specify how much weight, if any will be saved by using these lovely rims. Hey - what's a couple grand for wheels compared to all bucks for the chrome and leather tassels that are required to be seen in public on one of the "other" Harley brands? (Message edited by slaughter on January 01, 2006) |

The wheels cost more overall? |

I remember reading that the rear weight savings are significant as in several pounds (Roadracing World). Don't know about the front though-stock is really light already, but for racing the magnesium might be worth a couple of pounds of unsprung rotating mass. |
