does anyone know the inlet+exhaust valve head dia +o/a length?+lift,duration open close cam times from the xb9+12s?and if thin valve stem valve guides were put in t,storm heads [zodiac cat # intake 236140 exhaust 236146],could xb valves+springs be used.OR does anyone know of any lighter valves that will fit the t,storm heads? would titanium ones be robust enuff for street use?

I was told at a local dealer ship that the xb valevel train will fit in the thunderstrom heads
all you have to do is put in the xb valve guids the rest will work . and the parts would only be about 135.00$.

thanx.are xb valve retainers the same as on tube frame engines?will std size xb valve guides fit t,storm heads or will i need oversizes put in?

Granted this is old, but I will bite

Stock XB retainers have a triple groove and will not work with older style valve. The XB valve is also smaller so the whole package really is not interchangeable without changing guides, which you can do.

If replacing guides I would recommend you go with an ammco 45 guide and a shoulder vs. the stock guide.

We have used Ti intake valves in our race bike for many years and have very few issues with them, as for the street, buyer beware, the have longevity issues.

Valve head sizes range differently between XB stuff and older heads, but I know Kibblewhite Percision Machining has made many different sizes for us along with off the shelf stuff now for 7mm.
