I looked on the underside of the swingarm and didnt see any pinch bolts then remembered that they changed it for 06?? any help? thanks |

Sport, I just took the muffler off my Uly. Thanks to suggestions from others on this board, I did not have to loosen the pinch bolts or the axle. Just take the belt cover off and you can reach the rear band clamps with a 1/4" extension and 7/16" deep well socket. When you re-install you can slide the rear band clamps to the side for easier access. |

Thanks Dave. This is awesome. I got a sneaky suspicion my wife is gonna get me a spec ops pipe for christmas!! So I was gonna do it step by step exactly as the Manual and I wasnt looking forward to loosing the rear whel unless absolutely needed. This helps out alot. One more question though the bike is obviously still pretty new 16oo miles. I was wondering if the front torca clamp and the front muffler strap still needed to be replaced with it being so new? Or if these clamps are a one time use clamp the looses its integrity after it is tightened down? Any suggestions? |

Sport, get the manual. It will save you many headaches in the future if you ever need to do anything to the bike. Also, follow everything the manual tells you. |

They are a "one time use" clamp. I'd replace it just to be safe. |
