I would just like to thank everyone who took the time time to answer my questions about buell bikes and tell me what they thought about their bikes .However reading ALL your answers it's probably not the bike for me , i like triple digit corners A LOT! (probably more than i should) and what i came away with from MOST of your comments was ,early commitment to your line (wich means no changing line midcorner)Hang WAY off (to make it hold it's line )and no moving around on the bike midcorner what so ever(these ingredients do not a stable bike make).
I could be reading to much into it,but your most prized artcile (and by far the most in the buels favor i've seen sadly) talks about how it out ran an r1 and an rc51 even though most of the testers hated the way it handled...Just not a selling point to me ,I've been ridding long enough to know out in the mtns it's the rider not the bike ,so the bike out running a couple of bikes on some odd road somewhere really means nothing all that sticks out to me is that it was ill handling while doing it. Some of you refered to it as "different" that may be but "different"
usually doesn't mean better and if it's not better whats the point? Every ..well ALMOST every major sportbike company,superbike team ,AND MOTOGP bike are sitting on basically the same chassis geometry ,it can't be because they haven't tried everything else ...right?
Anyway thanx guy's it's still a great looking bike and really cool.

BTW for you guy's that had SV's and didn't do any suspionsion work(FORKS REARSHOCK) shame on you i know you got the bike cheap enough\clipart
{biggrin2} I can take the big SV through a set of sweepers doing 130+ mid cornner turn completely around in the seat and wave to the guy behind me and the big ZUK never even twich ,or move from it's line .Thats stability ,with a little work work she's embarassest more than a few gsxrr1zxrr whatever's.I want my next bike to have character,soul which the buell seems to have plenty of ,but i also don't want to be at a disadvantage every time i ridding with those same GSXRR1ZXRRR'S the next time i'm in the mtns with them.

Huh? Carrying corner speed is what the Buell is all about. After you get rid of the factory d207's they become very stable mid corner. I think something got lost in translation.

Thanks for stopping in. After reading your post you're probably right, Buell's aren't for everyone. Let us know what you think when you actually ride a Buell. Maybe a test ride will change your mind some day.

For future reference, a letter of thanks for someone's opinion usually doesn't flame that same opinion.

Sounds kinda boring. I like a bike with a little feedback--and the ability to change lines at will... Of course, I seldom ride through sweepers at 130, I kinda like keeping my license, and that's difficult enough toodling along on my XB.

BTW, I did ride the SV1000S before I bought my Firebolt--it was nice, but just not as much FUN.

I think something got lost in the translation as well. You need to go ride a Buell. Remember that suspension set-up on a Buell is CRITICAL to a good ride. Thats something those "testers" I think failed to understand.

Like you said it is the rider not the bike, you may notice a lot of people have switched from the SV to the Buell this year or maybe the Buell just took all the top spots in those classes.

I highly recommend test riding one, you may have a different veiw since a lot of people that write those articles are still having a tough time saying anything good about Buell, but they are coming further along every year.

Before you buy anything go test ride them all and then make your choice, just remember its about 2 wheels whatever you ride.
