Hi, I've an '07 TT that I'm converting to take the windshield/flyscreen offof a Uly .. . . the carrier sub-assemblies are quite different & need to be changed out .. .I have ALL the bits (as far as I know, so far!), but the barrel of the ignition lock is bolted to the headstock with a couple of unusual one-off security bolts, kinda like a 6 pointed star-driver BUT with a raised stub in the middle to prevent use of a more common bit, no doubt a 'security' measure.
Is anybuddy familiar with these bolts & the required driver, & where I can buy one?
Cheers

What you need is a set of tamper proof Torx bits. Any good hardware store should be able to set you up.

.. . & the upstand/dimple thing inna middle, do I just belt it flat first with a drift or punch, or do these tamper-proof Torx bits have a central hole to accomodate it? Cheers, BrooC in NZ.

The tamper proof bits should have a hole to accommodate the pin.

Here's a link to a Craftsman set of tamper proof torx bits: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_009426140 00P?vName=Tools&keyword=tamper+proof+torx

If you don't want to buy a set, and just want that particular one, we stock it, specifically for that purpose:

If anybuddy else needs to buy one in, it turns out to be a 'Number 45' tamper proof Torx bit, a local parts house ordered me in one that was made onto a 3/8" drive socket. Cheers.
