Im sure this topic has been beat to death, but I am new on this board, and new to Buell motorcycles. I picked up an 04 XB12S for a ridiculously low price at my dealership. I must say, I am loving this bike. I ride it everywhere. I currently have an 04 Suzuki GSX-R1000, 1981 Honda CB750F, and a Honda CBR929RR. The Buell takes most of the ride time now. I have tried using the search feature concerning the R tail section swap, and I only found 1 thread that was of use, and it was quite old and none of the linked pictures worked anymore. Can anybody give me a heads up on where to get some information concerning the swap? I already have the subframe and plastics. I am a Suzuki/Yamaha motorcycle mechanic, so I have no lack of tools and mechanical knowledge. Thanks in advance. |

There are a couple of Firebolts being parted out on ebay. You would probably be able to get a lot of the stuff you need from them. Here is the thread about it. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/160772.html?1132597249 |

Not to hijack, but it's sort of related... To any of you that attempt this swap in the future, I'm considering purchasing a used, xbs tail end. So, if you take an S tail off and want to sell, drop me a line...it may help offset, or equalize the purchase of your R tail. Good luck to those who go for it...looks neat. Thanks, TK |

I should have all the parts I need for my swap very shortly. I will offer my XBS end to you if you are interested. Just give me a week or so to get all the parts together. It's starting to get cold here in Memphis, so I wont be riding much longer. That will give me time to do the R swap, throw in the Muller Power clutch, and a few other goodies. |

Hey Redstar11, Welcome aboard. Be sure to post pics! As a side note, I am intersted in hearing what you like about the Buell as opposed to the other fine bikes in your stable. If you feel like it, open and new thread in the XB Forum area. Welcome again. |

if you have any specific questions...just ask. conversion was very easy. "if you think you can do it...you can" is the quote i read somewhere here. it was very true. |
