I am fortunate enough to own a 03 9s as well as ride a Speed3 any time I wish. Personally I don't have much of a preference. They are both excellent bikes. I believe my 9 handles better but it could be due to the fact that the 3 has a 200 on the back right now. The 3 turns in really well and is very stable, even when the roads are crap. I have found that when my father and I are riding together, I can hang real close in the straights, even from a stop. Then I find that he's starting in second, or coming out of the corner in fourth, so I am reminded of the 3's awesome power. I also think that both bikes are styled very well. You can always pick them out in a crowd. I love my 9s but I had never ridden the Triumph. If I had, it would have been a tough choice. Although a used 9s can be had for around 6K and a good 955 is in the 4-5K range, so you could have both for the price of one new one. Now why didn't I think of that earlier? |

That Triumph 675 looks like all the other sport bikes out there, except for the color. |

I'm in love with the 675. For a second there I thought that was an R1. It borrows alot of the good styling cues from other bikes. CBR tail section with underseat exhaust. R1 swingarm only flipped upside down with 5 spoke rims. Exactly my point. It looks just like any other rice rockets out there. Easily mistaken for an R1. They all have pretty much same styling cues. Not that it looks ugly, they all looks good... and um...cookie-cutter... Just that there's no attitude like the Buell. Might as well just get an R1 and save some $ while prob getting way better quality, too (Now, I don't know the actual price, but Triumph tends to be pretty pricy anyway. Correct me if i'm wrong. ). But that's why I love my XB12S. No one can mistake it for a jap bike. |

a great quote from rocketman: "Test 'em all and if one's not enough start collecting" I heartily agree. |

The new Triumph sticker is supposed to be just under $9k to compete with the rest of the bikes in its class. This is according to Cycleworld or Motorcyclist. |

Looking at a photograph only you are been a little harsh on the Triumph. I'm no fan and I too can see the Japanese 'look' but I've seen it in the flesh last week and I can tell you this bike is gonna sell very well in the home market and it will steal some sales off Japan for sure. It is a fantastic effort and we should take nothing away from it. Freek me, it's taking on the Japanese at their own game which is something of a parody really. We should praise it not bash it. It's got the green light to race in British Supersport in 2006 with world governing body, the FIM, backing it, Paolo Flammini, the boss of World Superbikes says he won't allow it to race in World Supersport stating they have enough manufacturers in the series and he wouldn't want to upset the technical rules to allow it to run in the current series claiming such rule change would be for the benefit of one company. Ah that be right. We can only allow a twin cylinder 748/9 Ducati compete against the Japanese multi 600's. God forbid a 675 triple. That would be so unfair when it wins races. After all, racing motorcycles isn't about competing is it???? Rocket (Message edited by rocketman on November 04, 2005) |

CATARACT2, I have tried all of the Orlando area dealers. Seminole Harley has one cool guy named 'J.R.', who is nice to talk to about Buells. Buells are not his thing, but he is very friendly, and enthusiastic about them. He told me that the salesmen do not get very much money from selling a Buell compared to a super-fat- dyna-wide-glide-a-rama, so allegedly that is why they are jerks. You can forget the other big Orlando dealer, I think they lost their Buell contract anyway, if I am not mistaken. I can't get a look at the New Speed Triple because they supposedly sell as soon as they get to the dealer. Man, I am really confused. I love the low v-twin torque, and I also love the rev of the sportier engine. I wish I had the funds to have a 'collection' of bikes, but I have to save some pennies for my dirt bikes too (Kawasaki KX250 and KX100)! |

If you care to, try either Gainesville HD or Lakeland. I've even heard Tampa HD is a good one. As was suggested by others, go take a test ride. That will tell you what you want. |

i have an 03 XB9R w. race kit and I love it... my brother has a couple of bikes...one is a Speed Triple. I rode it from LA to Monterey this year to the Laguna Seca MotoGP. It's a totally different bike, different behaviour, power delivery etc...but it's an awesome bike...I got used to it very quickly and really liked it. I would be more than happy if it was the only bike in my garage my point? they're both great...test ride em both and see... |

Had a 955i speed3, excellent bike good style, reliable and great to take through bends (reasonably forgiving when you got it wrong as well!). Also not too shabby on top end but dealer attitude was s***. As with Buell they have their own quirks. But isn't that what makes ALL bikes fun. Had around 40 bikes in as many years, from KH250 to honda Blackbird. The 12s is mine for now(dealer excellent) but try any thing on a test ride and do't let others tell you your choice is C***. Just ride and own as many different bikes as possible cause thats what makes it FUN!!!!! |
