When is Dave T heading to GA? Is there a Kansas send off? I rode the Firebolt too here in IL. Not a good area to test the bike out in that the best curves I could manage was simply at traffic lights Not a fair shake. The bike sure did feel small though and very flikable. (Is that the German spelling?) DAve |

Colorado's a blast. Just got done dynoing my S1. Made 87HP after installing a Buell race air cleaner, fiddling with the timing and moving the S3's loud pipe over to it. The 5" Supertrapp made 1HP more on top, but the Stainless Specialties was added 10hp from 2500-4000RPM (I think, charts to come). Onlookers reported seeing flames out the pipe. Speaking of the S3 I managed to drop the muffler off of it on the second ride yesterday. What's with the high plains and me losing mufflers? Back in St Louis Monday. |

Josh, it's not high plains but PAINS...Get back safe... Sam...Jeez we saw so many of your wheelies we thought you were riding a unicycle... Bad wreck today at Widman...The STL Shockers were kinda doing their thing out on Broadway and one of the lads lost is skating behind the bike...At first I thought he had it saved as he climbed back on but then the bike got away from him into the oncoming lane and into the curb where it struck a fire hydrant...Last I heard he was stable, broken hip, some serious deep gashes and all around effed up...Hey, guess what?...No med insurance... We are at our wits end with Pumpkin so Kevin H has graciously offered to bus it up to Bill Stewart's Tuesday to afford ourselves access to the factory... Tomorrow is the Ride for Kids which registers at Jefferson College in Hillsboro MO from 8 to 9:45...We're leaving from the Waffle House at I-55 and Butler Hill at 8:30...I think they want a donation to ride of $35...Thought I'd go with Kevin and see what it's like...I think this may be the first year for RFK in STL...Sorry I didn't post this earlier... DAve...Those are great pics...If their hi res could you please email them to Leslie...Thanks... See Ya! Bob |

Thanks Tripper. I'm back in the office. So many tasks so little time. The S1's small fork seal leak got much worse on the trailer ride out to Co. But when I rode it the "feel" had improved immensely. I think Widman's really screwed up (imagine that) and among other things over-filled the forks. Now I'm rethinking RaceTech, maybe just new seals and the correct fluid level. Even after the leak it was still pretty stiff. We had a lot of bikes on the Dyno, the S1 was the only one that made Aaron comment "wow this is stiff" when he was tying it down. I don't think I'll get dyno charts out of Aaron for a little while, but man it runs nice. Very smooth/linear acceleration. Aaron thinks it'll make 90HP in StL. (We didn't change the jets so it was running rich in Colorado). Josh |

This is my Other Buell toy, I realised that for the most part none of you have seen it. I wanted to trailer to the gap so that I could ride both on the dragon. Maybe this one will be there next year. |

Sam...Really nice looking scoot...Can I have the fenders?...Seems I'm now going to have to go back to the stock rear as Pumpkin's just shredded it's third (or is it fourth?) rear CF one...Hey, where do you put bags on that?...Well guys, we can see where Sam's interest lies and it isn't TOURING!...I thought it might have been pussy but, hell, where would she ride...Hmmm, maybe sittin' on his lap, do you think?...Or....Nevermind... Sam, I need that ride!!! LOL no chance of the little redhead sitting on back! It would do away with all those slaps and cursngs I get when traveling "too fast" with her on the back. LOL Ohh wait a sec, she could probably still fit on that seat, think you can make one half that size?? Sweet ride! Keith |

Heather, Shame on you! You should never air the family problems in public. If your the guilty party, I vote for Keith giving you a good spanking and taking away your beads. I read this on tailofthedragon.com: Thursday Sept 12, 2002 We did a few runs on the Dragon this evening. Found more gravel than usual but still managed some fun runs. The Buells will be here this weekend for their annual weekend BRAG and wrench fest at Fontana Village. Here is an EMail we received from Heather, one of the Buell rider wives: "BRAG riders are truly a unique crowd. It really takes a stallwart soul to take a machine destined to break down/apart/away over 1000 miles away-one way that is-just to ride a stretch of road. My husband is out there for the BRAG festival this year, having missed it last year due to complete engine failure of his 2 year-old bike. It would be great to have some photos of these people on your web site." |
