I bought a polished "Buell" lower belt guard off ebay. I only realized after i bid on it that it says it'll only fit 04-05 models, and i have a '03 (duh).

Does anyone know if i can still install it on my bike (i haven't received it yet)?

You can, but it won't offer the protection the 03 bikes need.

I don't think it'll fit... mounts differently, but I'm guessing.

Why not the swing arms are the same.

I think the mounting locations on the swingarm are different...holes might not line up.
EDIT: I looked into it a while back, Glitch, but several people 'said' it wouldn't fit. I didn't purchase one to find out.

Thanks guys. I guess the jury is still out.

I'll wait and see how it fits. If it doesn't work, you'll see it in the "Classifieds".

No, I'm running the guard on my '03, mounting is the same. Fit is off because the larger sprocket on later models. I plan on adding sheet metal flames to make up the difference.

It protects where it counts though. Deflects all debris coming from the front. The gap to the rear is maybe 1-2 mm.

Point to consider. These are cracking and falling off, I'm on my second. That's why Buell doesn't offer them anymore. Al from American Sport Bike said he can't get em anymore. I plan on running a bead on the outside to beef it up. Can't see where the bead will be anyway unless you look as it will be under the swingarm. Might want to do the same if you run it.
