Three Categories: Bang-for-buck = Jardine, $230 Sound = D&D, $520 Best Performance = The Drummer, $400 or $600 Each has their trade off. The Jardine loses a little bit of the bottom end and and boosts performance above 3000 rpm. The D&D boosts mid range performance and makes incrediable sound doing so, but it's LOUD. The Drummer/new Drummer SS will boost entire rpm range, and has a good sound to it. Choose your own destiny. Oh and I'm sure Jerseyguy will tell you to buy a Drummer.  | ||

They are all good pipes considering I've owned all three stated above and still 2 out of the three. | ||

It's not mentioned much anymore, but I had a Latus on my XB9R. Deep and throaty, not raspy at all. Really nice sound with chrome tips and built well, I thought (has jacking points, too). Looks real nice on a blue bike. Lost a tiny bit on the bottom end, but had a pretty smooth hit from mid to redline. Note that the 12 doesn't lend itself to night and day performance differences from a pipe like the 9. When I bought the Latus a couple of years ago, it was $460 something plus shipping. I have XB12R now. I slipped on a D&D because I wanted some noise, which the D&D certainly delivered. I'm happy with it. | ||

why is special o.p.s. not included? i would figure it would be a better "bang for your buck" than the jardine. just wondering (cause that's what i was planning on purchasing). oh, and i'm new to the whole posting thing on this board (i've been reading on here for a couple months though), so here's my official "whats-up?" | ||

Nothing against Odie, he seems like a very nice stand-up guy, but for the same amount of money I can have a Jardine slip-on and keep my stock exhaust intact. The Special OPS and the regular Drummer just don't look good enough for me to drop that kind of money on them. With the Jardine I get a great looking, super light weight pipe with great sound and a nice top end gain. For $230 bucks, I think it is hard to beat. Plus I could even sell my stock 12 muffler for like $50-75 bucks and make it even cheaper. I do think though that if money was not an issue, the new stainless steel Drummer is absolutely gorgeous. And it sounds like a real screamer too. Just can't see myself spending that much money on motorcycle exhaust for a street bike. (Message edited by Nasty73z on October 31, 2005) | ||

I love my Special OPS pipe. Even had fun yesterday...I was turning right and a pedestrian was taking their sweet time...as soon as she was far enough I cut the corner tight and smacked the throttle open. My friend behind me said the woman just about jumped out of her skin and started waving her bag at me and yelling. The performance has been awesome...great pull across the band, and the sound is just so sweet. Great mod for the money, and you keep the valve so there's very little you have to do to use it... | ||

You guys know me too well ...... Drummer SS - save 12.5 lbs and gain throughout the whole RPM range. See the specs. on www.kdfab.com Kevin is finally in production on the SS's. He's been inundated with orders for the regular Drummer, especially the the ULY version (its a good thing). I've been on his hillbilly ••• to get the SS's together. I kind of felt bad though 'cause I called him on Sunday and he was working. To be fair, we have been waiting on the billet front brackets to be CNC'd. They are promised for this Friday.  | ||

Not the fairing mounts, the front billet mount for the muffler itself, I'm working on brackets in my spare time that I don't have right now, but soon I hope...it weighs 9 lbs, the stock long muffler weighs about 20lbs and without the chinspoiler, well you get the picture....It's very light for it's material make-up and size I have to add, but to each his own...have fun!!!
