Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I want to make sure this is done correctly.

For the engine mounting bolts, should these be installed dry, with Loctite, or with Anti-Seize? Looking at the service manual, it appears that they are installed dry. This seemed a little strange to me since I'd expect these bolts to be subject to some of the most severe and direct vibration on the entire bike.

Thanks in advance for any clarification!

The XB service manual calls for High Temp Loctite 272 on the bolts common to the head and anti-seize on the bolt going through the isolator into the frame.

Thanks. Can you tell me where that info is in the service manual? In my XB12X service manual, I was looking at the "Specifications" section at the beginning of the Chassis section. It lists torque specs, and then in the notes portion lists Loctite, Anti-Seize, etc. For the "Front isolator bolt", it doesn't have any comments.

Is there another area of the manual I should be getting the information from?

It also doesn't help that the page that the spec chart references (2-63) doesn't actually have any related information...

Thanks again!

I'm looking at my 04' Firebolt manual, and it's in

Section 2.20 Front and Rear Isolator...Pg 2-61. That section details removal and installation of the isolators.

Anything that you "TORQUE" should have TORQUEING COMPOUND ON THE THREADS to get the PROPER TORQUE !!!

Loctite if the SPECS. require it, "BUT"
"i" prefer TORQUEING COMPOUND(anti-size) ...
