My bike is just about at 15K. Just put new brakes on it. New primary gasket. Will be replacing fork oil and seals soon. Anything else I should look at?? Thanks |

Jack up the front end and check for play in the neck bearings. |

Max: check the OM or FSM the neck bearings to be greased at 10k I think. If you go into the neck, the bearings will likely need greaseing and may need replacing, as might the swing arm ( if 99-02 ym) Max Check the KV I am going through the bike over the next couple of weeks. Just did the neck and working on the swing arm // Isolators, get an air wrench to do the arm if the isos have torx, Al at asb has better bolts and isos with these if needed. if the forks are not leaking and the oil is clean (mine was water clear) consider oil change only. also important Oil Pump drive gear inspection mine shows slight signs of wear, don't ignore this it will cost an engine if not dealt with there are a number of threads on the subject and a couple of wrecked engines as a result of missing it. |
