Well , I finally swapped my forks and shock over last night to a low set up , I found someone willing to part with their XB9SL set up , so I bought it. I went out and bought a Bike Jack from the local SAM'S CLUB for $70 buck's , just to find out they suck for XB's 'should have known' . It took me more time to secure the bike on the Jack than it did to make the swap 'go figure' . The whole job went super smooth until I got to the front axle , I FORGOT ABOUT THE 7/8 Hex !! , But check this out --- I'm sitt'n their pissed of coarse because I figure I'm going to have to wait to get the Tool to get the job done when a little light went off in my head !!! I wonder if anyone else has done this yet ? I'm looking in my tool box in the socket draw and I see an old 13/16 spark plug socket , you know the kind that you can put on the plug and the opposite end you can put a wrench on ?? A 7/8 wrench ......Yeah...., Fit like a glove . Stuck it in the hole jammed an extension in the plug side snapped in my breaker bar and WhALA , out comes the axle.... The bike fit's me now !! |

Holy cow, that's cool! Yeah, I wouldn't have thought of that. I got that 7/8 hex axle removal tool in my XB tool pouch that comes with the bike. But this is a great tip in case I lost that little adapter or if I need it in a pinch. Thanks! |

The tool freak I am I went and bought a 7/8 hex, 1 inch drive socket. Wish I thought of that before. By the way you can cut out a u or v shape out of a 4x4 block of wood to adapt your jack to the muffler. |

Or buy a D&D exhaust which has a flat jack plate on the bottom!! LOL Great advice/news on the socket, I knew there would be a reason to keep it in the tool box!! Bruce |
