I don't know, I drag the pegs at every trackday I do and I have never touched an elbow down! Well except when I crashed. |

I'm calling total BS on the elbow scraping. (So much for his "I do not lie" claim!) Check the September issue of BIKE magazine for a nice shot of a Firebolt at max lean (i.e. pegs scraping). Note how far away the rider's elbow is from the tarmac. Oh, and while you're at it, note that it was the XB12R that was recognized for being the best cornering bike ever built, not the 9R. (The XB12S was #8 in their top 50 list, btw.) I've got a funny feeling his "foolishly low" reserve is anything but. |

I'd stay away from heavily modded bikes. Usually means the owner has ride it very hard. Unless you are into racing yourself and do have access to cheap services / part (or you do it yourself), prob not a good idea. Just my 2cents. |
