Sometimes my XB12 "coughs" through the airbox when its idling and I blip the throttle a little...sounds a little like a backfire through the airbox. Anyone else have this happen and is it normal? The bike is brand new and only has about 100 miles on it. Thanks and God bless. |

It'll happen less as the engine breaks in, but it never goes away exactly. My best recommendation is to ALWAYS let it warm up for a full minute before touching the throttle. NEVER blip the throttle when it's cold. |

first try to break the habit of "blipping the throttle a little" you may be confusiong the EFI, which is not programmed to distinguish between THRUST and NOISE. second, make certain that your hot engine idle speed is set correctly: 1100 rpm HOT is about right. |
