Trying to remove engine sprocket to replace bad stator but it won't budge.. The Manual says to use a puller and two bolts. I have a puller but no threads on the sprocket to put the bolts into.. Anybody have any ideas??? Charge less in Zephyrhills Dave |

You have the nut (left handed thread) off that holds the clutch assembly in place as well? Both come off at the same time with the primary chain. I found that the magnetism of the stator held it in place rather than a mechanical force. DAve (Message edited by dave on September 15, 2005) |

1999 S3T.. the clutch is loose. I have pulled as hard as I can and cannot get it to budge. I had it off about 2 years ago replacing the crankshaft seal.. might have gotten some locktight migration. Need to get this fixed.. I want to ride.. |

Never mind.. My brother the HVAC tech came over to help and he suggested we freeze the crankshaft to shrink it.. Worked like a charm. Just don't tell the E.P.A. |
