Tom, what's the cost of camping at the track? Planning on heading up Friday as well. Any electric hook-ups there!? |

Rocco, have you decided which bike you're going to run? I still have a bunch of prep (read all of it) to do... |

Camping is included in your entrance fee. $25 for Sat-Sun $15 for Sun. If you get there early friday, there is a extra $10 charge for friday. We've gotten there around 4 once and they only charged us the $25, per person. Kids are free. I believe electric went up to $20 for the weekend this year, not sure though, haven't gotten it. Electric is only in certain area's and 1st come 1st serve, but friday night will not be a problem. It seems the rest of the Buell riders have been camping/pitting near the entrance, turn 6. I believe we're going to set up there as well this time out. |

I'll be using the Ducati. I still have to change the oil and do some safety wiring, but it's pretty much ready. I got the new tires installed last week. Hoping Tom has his wiring stuff with him. Can't find the kit anywhere around K-Town. Found some good deals on E-Bay for the whole set up, but they'll never get here in time. I believe , for the class anyway, it's just the drain plug, oil filter and oil filler cap that need to be wired. Although I don't know how you'd do the filler on the M2. If you need some help with your's, Tuesday or Wednesday would work for me to help you out. Jon has a Football game on Thursday at either 5:30 or 6:30 PM. Tom, thanks for the info. The power is no big deal to me. I'd rather set up by everyone else. But if it's Buell Alley, I don't want to get beat up!! |

I wont'be there til 5ish so save me a outlet, I have about 75 ft of cord. Plus a spot for the 32 ft rv! Ya Rocco just bring the sleeping bag and pillow and allergy people are welcome. I run a UV light system as well as the a/c. If no outlet the generator runs.......Its definately allergy season, I'm on all the prescription stuff and still get the headaches.... I hate this time of year but the next season.... So what's dinner plans for Sat evening? What do I bring? Or we could go in town, I ate there last year, good pizza/sub place. (I don't cook, it's a guy thing) |

Rocket, all tools will be present, extra metal for homemade brackets even. Oil filter on m2 needs I believe a 3" dia. hose clamp, then safety wire to bike. I'll have some drill bits along also. I don't know if they're that technical for the class? I don't remember. "I'd rather set up by everyone else. But if it's Buell Alley, I don't want to get beat up!!" They may let your Duc park there for a few beers Cool, If Fiery is also coming with you, have her give Kelli a call and Kelli can let her know whats going on with food. I grill sometimes at the track, but Kelli does most of the food stuff.

Coolice, I'll do my best to save you a spot for your rig. We are bringing a Tent, but if there's room Saturday night, I may take you up on your offer. I know my son Jon and myself are getting our asses kicked by the allergies. I can't get rid of my headache no matter what I take. I've been sleeping for 5hit and we've been doing 6:00am starts at work for the last week or so, so its up and out the door by 4:30am. That sucks! Speaking of which, I'll be working in the Racine area tomorrow at a place called 2nd Wind Sport Equipment. It's in the Kohl's Mall on Highway 20 and Highway 31. If anyone has some free time and wants to see what a Sprinklerfitter actually does, stop on by!! Hell, I'll even let ya buy me lunch! As for food, we too are wondering what to bring. We have Kringle and muffins and stuff like that for Breakfast, but for Saturday nite we should all figure out something so we don't end up with Hamburgers and 10 trays of Brownies for dinner. Not that it would be all bad! |

Tom, what size holes did you drill for safety wire? And which ones did you do? Obviously the drain plug, but probably a couple of the primary cover bolts as well to have something to wire to? |

I drilled 1/16 holes, broke a few bits. Yes to the primary bolts, one for oil filter and one for the drain plug. I also did the banjo bolts on the brakes, brake mounting bolts, front and rear axles. |

No luck getting past the first page either. My guess is that the site is shut down because of a traffic overload. I'll keep trying during the day. |

Well since Heather took care of most of the prep last night, all that's left is safety wiring and removing the side stand and we're ready to go. Might replace the front brake line but I don't know. I think the Gixxer line will work just fine for now. It was kinda fun last night, me working on my bike and her working on hers. Next week we're going to see if she can put it back together. |

I am not sure about the site. The info was posted on another board by a supplier. Locally (Madison) I know that Madison Motorsports carries Metzlers and has good prices. |

B.T.W... Be careful, Caledonia is taking Social Security #'s and writing them on your ticket. I'm checking if this is actually legal, but it's certainly dangerous when it comes to identity theft. JT |

Metzeler Update: Received this email from them: Dennis, My apologies, but our Sprint web server went down this morning, and has not come back up. The www.getmetzeler.com should be up by this afternoon. This is a promotion that offers you the opportunity of receiving a free (not including $25 shipping/handling) front Racetec with the purchase of a rear Racetec. Check back a little later, and hopefully it will be back for you to sign up! Kevin BTW...VERY quick response from them. A++++ on the customer service. |

Impulse, Impulse, Impulse, What are we gonna do with ya! You know a great way to get the need for speed out of your system is the race track I find myself with alot less urge to go fast on the streets now that I race. We can always use another Racer on the track!!

What would they need it for? They have your drivers license number. In general, it's a bad idea to carry your SS card with you so what are they going to do if you said you don't remember it? Anyway, according to the Social Security Office - "The Privacy Act regulates the use of SSNs by government agencies. When a Federal, State, or local government agency asks an individual to disclose his or her Social Security number, the Privacy Act requires the agency to inform the person of the following: the statutory or other authority for requesting the information; whether disclosure is mandatory or voluntary; what uses will be made of the information; and the consequences, if any, of failure to provide the information." Since you're confused as to whether or not it's legal, I'd gather that the officer didn't explain all of the above. So in a sense, the way the whole deal went down, no, it probably wasn't legal. That's probably not enough of a technicality to get you out of the ticket though. But, I'm not a lawyer and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so you're pretty much screwed. Anyway, I PMed you the name of a guy I've used a couple of times with reasonable success for not too much dough. |

Thanks Lake, I'm always looking for deals on race rubber. I'm not partial to brands yet. Last year I used bridgestone $350 set, Dunlop $265 set and this year Pirelli $275 set. I go where the bargains are at. Out of the 3 brand I dislked the bridgestones most due to wear. They all have stuck well to the track. |
