Hey guys, We will be on the salt for WOS. Hope the conditions improve. I've been helping the Bennett's get ready for the Bub event the last few days. Again, hoping the conditions will improve for them. It's getting close! Yeah baby!!! |

FMJ, Just back from salt flats. Saturday the course was terrible. Had a jump in it that Kirk caught air on. Doing about 130mph but pulled it back together for a 144 pass. The SCTA people dragged both courses every night all night long. Sunday it was soft and we went 142. The whoops were still there and the low slung people were dragging parts and scraping paint off of frames. By Monday the short course was in pretty good shape. We got back up to speed, soft spots all over. We took Tuesday off and went into SLC for parts. Bike comes apart on a bumpy course at speed. Long course was shut down on Tuesday and short course had limited runs as the rains came in. I would bet that the course will be much better the rest of the year as the dragging and rain tend to flatten things out. Be careful out there |

FMJ, Took a quick look at the runs off the SCTA website. Our runs at 142 to 151 were all in the top five for fastest bike of the day. It is unreal how many bikes ran slow. Usually ther are 50 bike passes faster than us. Looking back on the week, I wish we had bagged it sooner. be real careful out there Paul |

I sure hope its better in sept.I did first tuning runs today and the bigger turbo makes it run lean so we rejetted annd still lean, 205 main, made 147 hp running poor.Tomorrow morning back with bigger jets and needles. Then hit the button. |

Well we had no bigger jets and no one else near did either, had to order them.Shimmed the needle (richest one they have)and still need to fiddle with needle jet and accelerator pump. And just to pizz me off,the stupid Pingle petcock gasket decided to take a dump and pour gas all over everything.Stupid thing worked great all the last several weeks getting things going--what timing. So I got up at 5:45 and met Terry at the shop at 7:00 am for squat!!Shazbut!! WAAAAH--I wanna push the BUTTON!!!! |

PB- No worries, see you there. Offer's still open for anyone. FMJ- Great to hear about the last few tweaks and preps. Go easy on that Buell motor, don't wanna blow it just now eh? Sounds like 200 mph is already in the bag to me! Definitely got the time off work now. It was a bit of a worry because I've just started a new contract with a brand new client this week. But its working out fine. Woo Hoo! Steve. |

Any of those will work as I am just using the center section to cover the holes in the front wheel. When I took off wheel this year the salt had trashed a bearing and want to keep my high dollar ceramic ones clean. The disc side has large slots in it that are covered by the rotor but I don't run one. So,David,Todd,or Bill, whoever wants to ship one out let me know and I will gladly pay shipping. Jim Higgins,4475 Clancy Lane,Vacaville,CA 95688. Thanks for the replies ,guys. |

Bonneville update--dynoed the bike today again and it's running better--12-15 lbs of boost,230 main jet and it's still goes lean unless you roll on slow.Hit the button finally and ended up with 172 HP.More tuning and a full NO2 bottle to come. That's with the smallest pills in so there is plenty more in it!! BTW,huge thanks to Vallejo Buell and Terry Parsley for many hours of dyno time and letting me work on the bike at the new race shop.!!!! |
