As it stands so far, the wife is going via car, I'm riding out solo so far. Registered yesterday. I won't be on the road until about 6pm on the 2nd. I'll be leaving from Moreno Valley if any cares to join me in the ride. Friends might still be coming?? we'll see |

Xb9rski my plans so far is to either follow Al and friends or depending on trailer/truck space which looks very limited, to ride with Al. either way is fine, the only problem following is slow trailer speeds, i was thinking maybe picking meeting spots along the way? that way the biker's can rest while we wait for AL and friends to catch up.this is just an idea and have not ran this past anyone. im not in a big hurry to get there but it's hard to drive 55 Al thoughts....?

55? I think not. Trailer will do 70-75 for much of the way. Of course, the bikes will be doing 80.... but the meeting up along the way thing is likely the way to do it. Without many curves along the way, The truck will make good time and won't need to stop but once along the way for gas etc. With the bikes, your ass gets tired, you need to rehydrate and gas up more etc, so it's quite feasible to meet up. I think we'd be relatively early thursday... |

Re: Parking I'm driving down from MN with 3 bikes in a trailer. Is parking at Chosa's not an option? |

Tim, I can get you safe and secure place to park your trailer. Wish I had a place for you all to stay but I can't swing that puppy. -JW:> |

That would be cool! I've got a place to stay but I think its the kind of neighborhood that won't allow a truck and trailer to be parked on the street for three days. (I've got to call my aunt and double check.) A spot to park just the trailer would be helpful. Thanks. |

Yes there is but its not secure parking, when I worked there cars that were left there over night were broken into. I will contact Chosa's tomorrow and find out about secure parking. |

Xb9rski, Very cool!! HOWEVER, is she well trained? From all accounts, we will be on some VERY technical roads, far away from civilization and fast EMR...If she doesn't have a lot of seat time, you've got your work cut out for you and her before this trip starts. I don't mean to patronize, but do think about that some and prep accordingly. My wife rides, has an SV650 (her third street bike) and a TTR125. It's great sharing the hobby with her. But my ride style changes considerably when we're out together, I go into putt mode and look after her instead of bombing with the boys. It's all good. Al

First time driving by herself, She'll be taking the MSF course hopefully prior to the ride, She practiced almost all day yesterday. Believe me I know I have my work cut out for me, She's a Taurus, can't tell her anything! So yes I to will be putt mode behind my wife for the trip. I'm sure I'll have some time to play though |

I didn't make it up North today since I'm still having back problems, so I don't have "first hand information". Not trying to piss anyone off but there's some like major thunderstorms brewing in the Northeast at the moment that I can visually see from my home in Phoenix. Fingers crossed, -JW:> |

Last friday I took my bike for a ride before I loaded it in the trailer. Upon returning I found this.(tranny pukage) Plan B, load up the BMW F650 CS(the backup bike) along with the wifes firebolt and the sons blast. Saturday AM: Gave the wife a big kiss and wished her well. Four mostly uneventful days later she is in Phoenix. My son and I fly out tomorrow PM. BTW, forecasted low temp in Mpls. tonight is going to be in the 20's.
