I have a '99 S3T. Has anyone found a replacement for the silver can fuel filter? I have searched the archives and everywhere else and not found a definitive answer... All I've found, so far, is everyone just tossin' 'em. I'm at 20K and it's time for action... to replace or toss, that is the question. Now I'm lookin' for the answer. |

Call Dave Stueve at (920) 757-1651. ask for Dave in sales. Tell him you need PN P0135.KA. He's good to deal with. |

I'm not interested in replacing the stock filter with the same part. Pretty soon, Buell will no longer stock the part. Not the solution I was seeking. I'm looking for a replacement. Originally, the bike didn't come with a filter... it was a recall problem. Something happened to cause Buell to add the filter. Has this concern passed since I ran the filter for 20K miles? |

The original filter was too small and didn't flow enough fuel. The recall filter is much larger. There is no replacement period but I am also thinking that I would like to replace mine. Wouldn't any similarly sized fuel filter from pep boys work? |

The original filter was not recalled because it was too small or didn't flow enough fuel. It was recalled because it was plastic and had a habit of breaking spraying raw fuel out at 25 psi!! I believe you can just take your filter to any Autozone and find a Fram filter just like it in the universal filters section. |

My bike must have slipped thru the cracks cause my bike had no fuel filter installed. No matter... Most of the fuel filters I have seen in shops are either glass/replacable, little plastic throw-aways, or large plastic throw-aways... and the final option is to ditch the filter completely. Thanks for all your inputs. PS. The stock can sure are damned ugly though.... |

Funny, the only actual recalls registered in the highway department is a throttle cable clamp and the rear suspension thing. There must be a different classification for stuff like the filter and front exhaust mount. |
