I was at the 'Stormin the Castle' rally in Whitton Park near Newcastle, England. It was fairly standard fair on the first night-...drink...food...music...drink...puke. Day two, however, proved more eventful with my Twat of a mate deciding it would be a jolly wheeze to circumnavigate the site on my XB9R whilst he was drunk ... He was told to get off the bike but before I had a chance to get near the keys he was off....no, I mean literally off , he managed to get a total of 200 yards before he dropped it!. I quick scan of the damage revealed that amongst other things, the gear lever had been forced from the shaft and was busted. I was 250 miles from home and feeling pretty low however a visit to the guys manning the 'Just Harleys' stand at the show soon brightened me up. The Boss, sorry never got his name, told me to strip the gear lever from his brand new display XB and use it on mine to get me home! He never even asked me my name or asked for some sort of surity that I would post the part back to him...all he said was that he would never see another biker stuck! This immediately restored my faith in mankind and put me on such a high that I called off the contract on my mate!(The silly bas***d has enough on his plate now having suffered burst knee ligaments....Buells revenge .) Thanks again 'Just Harley' and your lever is already in the post with my gratitude. |

Very, very cool. May it come back to him in spades. |

It is nice when you meet people like that. Particulary interesting that a place called "Just Harley" seems to be interested in Buells. |

I remember when Just Harleys was run by its founder Dale Robinson. He showed that genuine care for fellow bikers too. Help anybody out big time as he often did. Then one day he was gone and Just Harleys took a massive dive in things Buell. Use to be one of the coolest dealerships in the UK, and I've been to lots of them over the years. Can't say I've any desire to revisit JH's and it would take a lot for me to change my mind but it's nice to hear the The Boss subscribes to the 'old school' way of doing things. Rocket |
