Aaomy:
I beg to differ sir!, particularly in view of the bad home that "she" came from, cleaned up painted and polished just right, that "girl" is in a class all by her self a little bling where desirable, character where it counts, a good heart, and ready for fun, her age and attractiveness is what makes her so appealing.

If the scooter rags would not publish her well they can have the bling bling easter egg hy-dollar bikes that the "builders put together" "she" aint no poser bike.

I don't find most chopper/ customs that appealing I like yours its really grown on me
The more I look at it the better I like it.
PS next time you show "her" take the before and afters with you, and maybe the I made list too.

Ditto what Oldog said. Your old school sporty is much cooler that those car-tired wearing poser bikers that are so popular right now. Then again, most of us that are on this site don't give a rats a** what is popular in the mainstream bike rags. If we did, we wouldn't be riding Buells anyway. Your bike rocks. If I'm lucky I'll build one that cool myself one of these days.

Aomy - There was nothing to not like about the bike or anything in the photos. That bike, on a brick street, in a classic neighborhood, in front of a house with wooden clapboard siding, etc., etc., is like a captured moment in time. Beautiful!

Aaron -- thanks for sharing -- I always lusted after those sporties, being big ol hooliganesque hair-chested hammers . . . your scoot walks that fine line between 100% resto and mildly altered -- looks like the factory coulda (shoulda?) done it that way in the first place . . .

your work, as always, is so very impressive -- I can see I need to spend some more time in the Entropy Lab this winter learnin myself up! (so much to learn how to do) -- while waiting for the pics to load, when they were still all fuzzy and hungover lookin (gotta love dialup, right?), for a minute, it looked like you'd just strapped the entire scoot to the mill , , , I was thinkin, "I just GOTTA see THIS!" ;-}

thanks for sharing, bud --

Bomber, Aaron is showing both of us up. I have no excuse not to have 1/2 my bike filled with custom parts. I have the ability, and the machines to do so(I have 7 CNC machining centers at my disposal here). I just don't think I have the time or ambition that Aaron does. : )

Aaron, that is one beautiful scoot. I'll haveta post a pic of my father-in-law's '70 XL sometime.

Steve -- well, he's certainly showing ME up! my old crates (1914 on the lathe, mid 20s on the lil knee mill) are certainly capable of far more than my skills (though I hesitate to use the term, as it implies a greater degree of accomplishment than I possess) . . .

however, I CAN chuck up some scrap aluminum successfully 7 times outa 10

;-}

Bomber, so I take it you're not whittling that aluminum away at 10,000RPM and 200 inches per minute like me? : )

Just think of how fast you can make scrap at those speeds : )

Please don't ask how I know this

Aaomy,

GREAT JOB!

I'm particular to Ironheads, and yours is one of the cleanest I've seen.

You hit the nail on the head with your description of how riding one "feels".

Enjoy the fruits of your labor, often.

bomber,, thanks man,, would have strapped the whole thing to the mill if it had a bigger table..i like that picture cause it was kinda fun. the bike went down on like a tuesday. had the part friday so i stripped her down and had a friend come help take the motor to work. worked until like 4 in the morning getting her squared away, measuring, cutting, making insert, and re assembly. drove home and crashed for a little bit. woke up the threw her back together. was riding that saturday afternoon.. if the car you pictured is any indication,,im sure you are greatly under estimating your self in the machining department.
steve, im not trying to show any one up,, after aaron left i felt a great void in the sight. like the sight had lost a major part and felt i should help attempt to fill this void, not that im even remotely trying to compare myself to aaron or the wealth of knowledge he brought to the sight. just that i appreciated his workman ship so much and thought that maybe i could help inspire others the way he inspired me,
besides it has nothing to do with ambition or trying to out do others,, i just dont have a life!!! as bomber puts it, no wimin folk at home..
oldog,, so your coming around too!! welcome to the dark side,,, you would be supprised how many people say i dont like harleys but i like that bike.
i have the bases for the clipons done,, just have to make the bars now!!! unfortunately with the price of gas that may get delayed a day or two. until i make a rack 4 the back of the 125,,,
all you guys thanks again 4 your comments on the bike, and everthing, they all mean alot,, aaomy

Aaomy:
Not harleys in specific, cruisers in general.
Your bike reminds me of a rigid triumph that a friends dad built Looooong ago, just before he passed.
Mr. Williams built it from parts and painted it with a spray can, when he finished it we all went riding, me his son Keith, and my self.
Lee was on the gas all the way. it was too cool. About 3 weeks later he was taking his driving test on Keiths' 900 Honda, When had he had his second heart attack.
A few days after the funeral His wife let me take the trumpet out for a long ride, and that changed my feelings about such things.

You see with your bike its the hand built aspect, the I made these parts, the fact its Not an easter egg, drum brakes, wire wheels, a hundred little details that make it cool to me, and it reminds me of an old black Triumph, which is a special memory, of saturday afternoons in the garage and PalMal no filter cigs in the shirt sleve and let me tell yous' very cool
thanks for sharing .......
