Note for those with S2's: Adding the frame brace to an S2 will do nothing for you but drain your wallet.
IS THIS TRUE?

Stiffens frame, under hard braking and riding frame can flex.Might be whay all the later bikes have an extra frame spar there.Looks good,too.

If you get the American Sport Bike version with the round strut it makes a nice mounting point for either a remote shock reservoir or an oil cooler ... and it looks cool ; )

When I was working for Buell I was going to add the additional frame tube via one of the aftermarket kits. When I mentioned it to Abe Askenazi he said that it was unnecessary on an S2 and that the S2 had the stiffest frame of the tube-framed Buells. It seems that the 'rounding' of the front part of the frames for the later tube framed Buell's lost some of the stiffness that the S2's frame had.

Now a hardcore racer might be able to tell the difference when this part is added, but for a street bike like my S2 I followed Abe's advice.

There's also the issue of adding the extra arm/mount/heim/thingy to the rear of the engine to add more stiffness on the S2's. Doesn't look as cool 'cause you just can't see the thing unless you bend down and look for it, but you'd know it's there. Supposed to add a little stiffness at the expense of a little harshness that most of us don't need and wouldn't notice the difference in it anyway. There's pics on the site here someplace. I forget what the S2 frame brace looks like, pic????? Please?

Besides, the American Sport Bike frame brace makes a nice spot for a remote shock reservoir or an oil cooler. I just need to get mine shortened a hair to make it fit ...

LaFayette -- chuckle -- the scoot belongs t a good friend (who will ID himself, or not) -- if memory serves, it was in the middle of a semi-major re-grooving at the time --

my understanding is that the Red Rage Exhaust system sounded great, but burned up it's packing relatively quickly ;-}
