Hey guys, I have a '03 XB9R with the race ECM, K&N, desnorkeled, and Drummer exhaust. I'm really not happy with the lower rpm power delivery / rideability. It tends to "pop" and "fart" alot below 3000 rpm on steady or trailing throttle. Makes city driving a real pain in the butt. I've decided to buy the Techlusion to attempt to smooth things out a little. My question is: Is it better to use the Techlusion with the race ECM, or should I switch back to the stock ECM? What are the differences, advantages, disadvantages? Thanks, -Jake |

justice, I am currently running a K&N, desnorkled, drilled 12 air box, TFI, stock ecm and a special o.p.s. pipe on my 03 xb9r. The thing runs amazing i am totally loving it. I cant say how a tfi would run with a race ecm but it runs like a top with my stock ecm. I do have popping on deceleration but thats because of my free flowing pipe. Just my .02 hope it helps. |

Justice, I have the same setup as you and also have the TFI. I couldn't ask for a better running bike. All of my TFI settings are back to zero except last pot, which is on 7.Low rpm is where it is especially good. You don't need a TFI, you must have another problem.Either an intake leak or poss.TPS out of adj.......Charlie |

Something can't be right...I have the exact same setup as you except the air filter cover (under the part you normally see) is all cut away except for just the top part. The other thing is I have the Pro Series plugs and run 91 Octane gas. The bike runs extremely well...several guys/mechanics have commented it is one of the best running bikes they have ever come across. I suspect your TPS is not set correctly or the timing may be off. I would check that out first and have a knowlegeable person ride it for a second opinion. (Message edited by lovematt on September 05, 2005) |

The TFI was designed to work with the stock ECM according to Dobeck. I did some extensive A/F ratio testing this spring on my XB9 with Race ECM, open airbox and Drummer. I concluded that the TFI was of little value for my application and removed it. |
