Hey fellas I need help with some simpler instructions. I'm fairly mechanical but the instructions that came with the unit are for about ten other harley's and I'm having trouble figuring what directions concern my application. I have a 1999 M2, can anyone direct me to some clear instructions in the knowledge vault, I cant seem to find them there. Thanks Ken |

not really sure what info you are looking for? i think most older buell tacks go on the same. you probably have three wires coming out of the back of the tack? orange, black, and pink? for the orange and black you can just tap into the orange and black on the back of your speedo. all the orange pretty much get tied together at the plug. now the pink wire, they may have already run it up to the dash for you so look first. it comes from you emc and tells your coil when to fire, then goes to the dash and tells you tack that same information. each fire = 1 revolution of the engine. if the wire isnt run to the dash , link on to it at the coil and run it up to the dash. hope this info helps you .. and im sure other will soon chime in with more.. |

I did mine via the black plug in, got some pins from H-D dealer and looked at the wiring diagram in the back of the service manual, the little black plug is numbered 1-10 and you can plug your wires, after putting on the pins of course, right into the black plug and then put the two plugs together and viola, done. Easier said than done, but comes out looking real clean. If you need more info, I can see if I can dig up my service manual for bike, 00 cyclone-same service manual as the 99, and get it to you. I eliminated the speedo but the work is the same regardless if you use one or not. Hope this helps. |
