Roger, Shovels pump oil from the oilpump to the primary and then retun it, they store no oil in the primary, only a very small amount circulates to lube the chain. Sam

Rodger, Bomber, had a most excellent time at Trax. Thanks for tips and encourgement, although i still don't quite have down how to slide across the pavement on my shoulder without hitting my head! Everyone else, if you haven't tried this Trax thing, go for it much fun and as the Bomber would tell ya, its FREE. Latter Steve

Interesting story, yesterday i tell my buddy who just bought a shov not to go to fast(hes from japan rode a kawi 400 cruiser something forever) and what does he do, 75 on the stephenson for like 1/2 hr just to prove me wrong, well he shows up today, and its pouring out oil, and i mean pouring oil out, so he asks is it hard to fix???
Easiy i said trade it in and buy a buell, they go fast and stop(forgot to mention the brake actually fell out of the caliper), No he says dosent look cool enuff, guess i may be busy this weekend, actually saturday only, sunday is booked up, any ideas on gasket replacement of the lower cyclider???oh well let him try it first going to have to learn one way or the other,
I still only have about 1/2 the parts i need, but like Dyna said, ride till the winter fix it then, but i am still going to try a tweek the faring mount cant stand the way it looks
Later

lower cylinder gasket? depending on the model, you MAY be asble to pull the jug with the engine in the frame . . . .it's really tractor-simple, just make sure the piston is at TDC with both valves cloed when you pull the head . . . .pushrod bending may ensue upon installing if ya don't (I won't tell how I know)

caliper fell out? wow . . .he musta really been hauling the mail

Awesome day at Road America today. Weather was GREAT, track was great, everything was great. For anyone who wasnt there you missed a hell of a good time. Thanks go out to Leslie for organizing the whole deal, nice job

By the way who claims ZX12R's & TL1000R's are so damn fast on the tracks? Betcha didnt know an X1 can hang right with the TL & absolutely owned the 12 on the course. Dave Stueve got into a real nice race with a 998 Duc, it was back & forth for quite a while, damn that dude can ride an X1 fast.

Remember Blcakhawk next week Lets see if any of the inline 4's wanna play.

Dynarider, what was your highest rpm on front straight in 5th? I got to 6500, which, according to my charts, is 133.7. What a gas.
I was on the demon blue S3.

I hit right around 6700 rpms. It was a blast just as you came up the hill, right where the bridge is theres a slight rise & I would hit 5th at that time, you could feel the bike rise up almost like it wanted to lift the rear off the ground.

I had more fun on the carousel tho, was turning 4500 in 5th around there. Havent bothered figuring out what speed that is but it was fast enuff to pass a ZX12 on the outside

I was on the Black X1, yea I know real original. It has the orange "Fuck you I have enough friends" stickers on both sides of the battery box.
