For a 2005 XB, the break-in is under 2500 RPM for the first 50 miles and then under 3000 RPM for the next 500 miles. All while not holding a steady RPM for too long. When the clock says 500 you are free to scoot :-) |

Sounds like almost every manufacturer's mantra for breaking in a new or rebuilt engine. |

1000 miles is the typical first scheduled service. I change fluids at the first 500 mark. If you have the inclination, service on Buells are mostly home mechanic friendly. |
